Installed 25.04-BETA.1 Fangtooth as a replacement for ProxMox homelab. Very happy with it, i run approx 10 docker apps, an LXC container, setup a encrypted cloud sync, snapshots, smb shares etc. All of that in a very nice GUI and dashboard.

Pro's
- full blown NAS
- instances (LXC/VM)
- docker with app store

Con
- separated disk to install TrueNas
- instances is still in beta at this moment

Tip) if you have no room for a extra disk or do not want to use your bigger SSD/HDD's as boot disk (as you can't use the remaining capacity on the disk and you only need about 16gb). I installed an M.2 NGFF A E Key WiFi to M.2 Key M SSD-adapter, to add a extra disk and removed the wifi adapter as i do not need that in the homelab.

Works great.. love that they support zfs

After using TrueNAS Scale for the past couple years I've found it to be very reliable. It works great for any of my Network Backup or Storage Access needs between my mobile and desktop devices. After looking into some learning resources it's pretty great for beginners to dig into something more advanced. The Apps do require frequent maintenance and sometimes need to be redeployed after updates change things (Depends on the container) but otherwise everything else is set and go. I couldn't think of a better NAS software to run than TrueNAS.
