Solus is a Linux distribution built from scratch. It uses a forked version of the PiSi package manager, maintained as "eopkg" within Solus, and its flagship edition uses the Budgie desktop environment. Budgie was originally developed-in-house, but is now maintained as a separate project by the Buddies of Budgie team. Solus is available in GNOME, KDE Plasma and Xfce editions.

 Funciona todo lo que quería en Solus: rápido, estable y sin complicaciones. La instalación fue simple, el sistema arranca en segundos y el consumo de recursos es bajo, ideal para trabajar, navegar y jugar sin tirones. El escritorio se siente ágil, todo responde al instante y no tuve que pelearme con configuraciones raras. Incluso los juegos me rinden mejor que en otras distros que probé, con mayor estabilidad y menos uso de CPU y RAM. Hasta ahora, cero problemas y una experiencia muy fluida en el día a día. Totalmente recomendable para quien quiera algo sólido y liviano.

 Nach vielen Jahren Linx Mint (seit Version 9, Isadora) bin ich vor ca 3 Monaten zu Solus OS gewechselt und habe den Schritt nicht bereut! Es ist stabil, bisher hatte ich nicht ein einziges Problem! Es läuft einfach und man verliert im Laufe der Zeit den Drang ständig über andere Distributionen nachzudenken. Freitags kommen i.d.R. Updates und die sind schnell installiert. Man muss nicht alle paar Monate auf eine neue Version upgraden. Ich hoffe, dass es SolusOS noch lange geben wird und die Macher nicht die Lust verlieren...

 The first Linux operating system that has worked perfectly on my computer from the very beginning! Even virtual machines with VirtualBox or Quemu/KVM run flawlessly. I was previously using Linux Mint, since version 9 (Isadora), as was my father (84), and we are now very, very happy to be using Solus OS! I hope the Solus OS project continues for a long time! Solus OS is a fantastic experience, and I wonder why I only discovered it now... Linux Mint wasn't bad; it's what made us never go back to Windows!
