Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
Colour scheme:green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

Seems like an excellent distro for gamers. With games available out of the box. However, I am not a user worried about games. What I did notice was a nice app store with good functionality, but a limited number of available applications. And some available apps don't even work. For example, the only VPN they offer is proton. Of course this is a decent VPN, the only problem is, the application didn't work. So here you have an OS with no working VPN. And without flatpak support, there's no way to install Gear Lever to use appimages. Using appimages on regata doesn't work that well. They execute but no option to add to system. Unlike with Gear lever. So even though Regatta is a well thought out system, it lacks in performance as far as apps actually working. Especially a VPN, which is vital for me to use an OS. Thanks but no thanks.
I had tested it previously, but I forgot to mention a detail that might be worth mentioning.
Sorry, I misrepresented the Regata OS version; I hadn't noticed. Anyway, what I said about this distro hasn't changed so far. The advantage is that I didn't even need to mess with the driver manager; it was recognized practically the moment I formatted the machine.
The games are running smoothly here. In my review, it's a very simple system to use with an interface that is very elegant to me, and I haven't had any problems using it so far. That's my experience with the system.
Hi! First, I'd like to point out that I'm a Linux newbie, having recently switched to it. A friend recommended Regata OS to me because it performs well for gaming and is beginner-friendly. So, I decided to give it a try, and so far, I have no complaints. The distro's interface is very attractive, and it's actually not difficult to use at all. I haven't had any performance issues with gaming or browsing; so far, it's running very well. I'd say it's worth giving it a try, even if just for testing.
