7.2 is buggy as absolute f----! Cannot read DVD-RW, the drive just spins up - then doesn't read... Even though Brasero is part of the distro. One of the tor alternative servers to download tor browser from is down - but it makes the user think that tor is down because the status is not clear (AnonSurf GUI is broken and doesn't show the IP address despite that being the label on the button I just clicked, just a platitude that tor is being used).
I don't think KDE is a good DE for a Live OS, whatsoever. Great for other uses, although the lack of window control (minimize, maximize etc) placement settings is a crime! All these other settings that the user can tweak yet not that essential one. Also slow, laggy in many areas. But hey, the important stuff is covered: cute little mini-icon animations when launching an application (that used to launch so quickly under MATE that there'd be no delay whatsoever). Oh, and when setting an admin password for security and hardening sudoers.d/live file, the stupid OS doesn't detect the need to run GUI applications as root (sudo) so just silently crashes.
If this is the official distro quality, how worse will the 'community' build be if I use the MATE 'Spin' version?
As far as I can tell this is a poor-quality testing regime - as good luck not getting hacked without putting that above (sudo) protection in place in a hostile network environment. Since the distro is using sudo not just root directly, agreed? Makes me wonder what awareness the Italians behind this actually have? I love Italy, but this looks bad - and NOT FOR THE FIRST TIME, EITHER (release 6.1 I believe, was utterly unusable as couldn't even be verified and suspicious warrant canary missing and such). I'm a beginner, also with disability... and if I notice this, they need to recruit someone else who is noticing this stuff, too (or I will have to volunteer and I am too ill).

It doesn't necessarily "just work" but you can find a way to configure it and make it look nice. Ive found its good for anything cyber security intended, and overall pretty private but I do have a problem with it often being unstable with updates and sometimes being hard to setup some things. I wouldn't rate it based off of that considering I have an old computer. I've also found it to be pretty lightweight, as having an lxqt setup with compositors will still make it idle below 1 gigabyte, so it's claim of being lightweight does stand pretty well. Overall, 7/10

Долгое время думал, что Parrot OS — это только для хакеров и профессионалов по безопасности, но решил попробовать Home-версию как основную систему. Уже несколько месяцев пользуюсь каждый день — ни разу не пожалел.
Система очень быстрая и легкая. У меня не самый новый ноутбук, но Parrot летает — браузер, документы, музыка, видео — всё открывается мгновенно. Интерфейс KDE Plasma приятный и понятный, не пришлось переучиваться после Windows.
Всё, что нужно обычному пользователю, уже установлено из коробки: Firefox для сёрфинга, LibreOffice для документов, VLC для видео. Плюс приятный бонус — инструменты для приватности (Anonsurf), которые просто работают одной командой.
Для новичка в Linux Parrot подходит отлично — всё интуитивно, и при этом система не мешает разбираться, как что устроено внутри. Очень рекомендую тем, кто ищет красивую, быструю и безопасную ОС для ежедневного использования.
