I have used Windows from its 95 version, through Windows 7 up to the infamous Windows 11. I started growing up my frustrations with Windows from 8, and I just cannot take it anymore with Windows 11, so decided to shift to Linux. And I chose MX Linux 25.1, XFCE edition. There it is, I am not going back. I like lean but powerful efficient systems, and MX is just great for my taste. Out of the box, it is very minimal yet quite powerful. It comes with a handful of pre-installed packages which are quite useful and practical, has a range of MX-specific configuration programs which acts similar to the Control Panel workflow on Windows. With these applications a.k.a MX tools, you can configure your operating system the way you like with easy to understand GUI. It does not come with any bloatware, just with a minimal set of practical applications. One thing I believe is, the operating system you use should not slow you down, and should not render itself as a barrier between you and the work you need to do on your computer. MX satisfies this philosophy completely. It consumes very little resources, leaves almost all the resources available to the work I do in my PC, and that's it. When I do work, MX just hides itself from the focus, but I know that it is there, managing everything that needs to be managed as a desktop operating system, and doing nothing extra. Debian has ended 32-bit support with Trixie. This means tossing your older 32-bit machines to recycle land to become Solylent Green. Or Save them with MX Linux but Hurry. Support for MXLinux 21.3 is ending in june. It might get iffy as they first cut off their test Repo. I am not new to MX Linux But used over 11+ years. I have just finished my snapshot build which I will use for old 32-bit machines. Kernels and all prrograms I might need installed (except kitchen sink) Kernels for 5.10 through 6.5. Browsers including FireFoxs along with most recent Tor 9yes you can find 32-bit if you know how to search. Worried about security? Not the issue some make out and yes you could find security updates to extent but for clues you will need to search the MX linux Forum. The secrets are there and you can have for free if you worry and are security patch fixated. The build performs extremely on a machine with 2GB Ram and a weak CPU. I use weak machines to do builds for tranfer. This way I don't have to worry about them Working on other machines. Actually 32 bit MX-Linux 21.3 is nicer than 64 bit. Yes after base install I enabled the AHS repo, BEFORE I went Kernel nutty. I strongly advise you get the high 6.x liquor kernels as they do wonders in memory management. I also followed guidelines to force usage of the latest WL for broadcom wireless. Changed speeds from 1.4 Mbps to as high as 11 Mbps one floor up from modem and router. I have reasons for wanting 21.3 32 Bit. Older program versions, it can matter on old machines. Hurry if you want. The only other 32-bit left? MX-Linux 23.6. MX tools are helpful, although some of them are not entirely understandable to me. As for me, there are too many apps installed by default. It's a pity that there is no minimal version like in Ubuntu, from which I moved and I am unlikely to return to it after the last action with a massive attack on their servers. A big plus for the fact that it's based on Debian and uses SysV, and I also noticed that MX Package Insatller allows you to install recommended packages, which is helpful. For example, when we install Chromium along with recommended packages, a sandbox package will be installed, which increases security.
