Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view: Major packages only (52) All tracked packages (226)
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

It came as a surprise to me. Having try Ubuntu,Debian,Mint open Suse I would defiantly recommend it over them. Fast-Stable-Easy to install, you can get on with your life not worrying of what might go wrong.

Version 18.2, unlike other distros, start to boot and fails.
Checksum is correct. It seems to be a quick assembly.
(Ubuntu, Mint, Trisquel and Puppy Linux boot fine)

I started using MX about 2 years ago, dual booting with Windows 7. While I still have W7 loaded on my machine, I have not booted into it in over a year. MX just works. I'm running it on an older Dell Optiplex 960 with NO issues. After having tried various Linux distros over the years, I am glad that I have found on that I can stick with for all of my daily computing...AND...I won't ever have to suffer with Windows 10. :-)
