Here's why. For the fun of it, I tried to install Arch Linux in a virtual machine and that was ridiculously long and complicated. You can do the same so much faster and in a very simplified way with Manjaro. Granted, you have different repos but who cares? I have disabled the AUR and only use Flatpak for softwares I can't find in the official repos. That works like a charm. The AUR has been useful to get the driver for my Canon printer and that's it. I'm using Plasma with an Nvidia graphics card (RTX 4080) with Wayland and I must say, it works really well. It's very smooth and only had one issue: getting my laptop to wake up after suspending the session. I often got a black screen or the bar at the bottom of my screen was frozen (but the rest of the desktop worked), and after a few updates, everything works great. Suspend, resume, AAA games, printing, scanning, streaming videos on my TV through Jupii, video conferencing with Jitsi, calendar integration, KDEConnect, browsing the web, virtualization... you name it! Manjaro does it all. The only thing that doesn't work is my keyboard backlight with OpenRGB. But this one doesn't work with any Linux distribution because on the Acer PH18-72, the backlight process is managed by a proprietary EPROM firmware that only works with PredatorSense on Windows. Nothing to do with Linux, it's Acer's choice that is what it is. So, I have a Windows ToGo on an external hard drive that I must use once or twice a year, when I want to change the color of my keyboard lighting, which is okay after all. I warmly recommend Manjaro because it's stable, easy to use, beautiful and can do all you can think of. Was this review helpful? Downloaded Manjaro 26.0.2 Gnome last evening and installed it. Ran it for a couple hour's and had some odd occurrences I've not come across in Manjaro before. It only picked up my HDMI sound through my Samsung monitor and not the built-in rear jack sound access that it that the speaker's were plugged into. Could not change the desktop wallpaper and a few other quips. I did check the sha256sum of the download and that was ok with the checksum figure on their website. As I've said, I've never come across any problems like this in previous downloads of Manjaro, my favorite being XFCE. Was this review helpful? I've been using Manjaro for quite a few years now. Like many folks, I've tried my hand at different distributions, but I always find my way back to Manjaro Linux. Why? Because it just works. I really don't get why some people are always criticizing this distro. In the decade I've had it, my system has never let me down. Was this review helpful?
