To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
Colour scheme:green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

I installed Manjaro on my 2 year old ASUS Zenbook (Model Q410V). It installed perfectly with no issues. It's been 3 weeks now and I've had no issues.
The KDE Plasma desktop is super nice and customizable, and the available packages in the package manager is abundant.
Between 2004 and 2006, I experimented with Linux distros, but due to work requirements, I had to switch back to windows.
But, so far, so good. I hope the distro continues to thrive and I hope all of the turmoil at Manjaro can be settled soon.
Cheers!!
p.s. I only gave it a 9 because nothing is really a 10... except Sidney Sweeny.
First I tried Manjaro after my new laptop with Lunar Lake, in early 2025, was unable to run Linux Mint. It has been a pleasant experience overall and, aside from very few hiccups, it provides a stable and up-to-date system. Coming from Mint and Cinnamon, GNOME was also a great discovery. I am not going back to Mint on this laptop. Manjaro is here to stay. Highly recommended to those seeking a hybrid between stability and cutting edge features.
Nothing else to say here but need to get to 500 characters.
Using Manjaro KDE Linux offers a balance between cutting-edge software and user-friendly design. Built on the Arch Linux ecosystem, Manjaro simplifies what is traditionally a complex distribution by providing pre-configured environments, graphical tools, and a curated repository system. The KDE edition specifically uses the KDE Plasma desktop, which is known for its flexibility, performance, and modern visual aesthetics.
One of the key advantages of Manjaro KDE is its rolling release model. Instead of reinstalling the system for major upgrades, users receive continuous updates that keep applications, drivers, and the kernel current. However, unlike pure Arch Linux, Manjaro introduces a stabilization layer, meaning updates are tested before being pushed to users. This reduces system breakage while still maintaining relatively up-to-date packages.
The KDE Plasma desktop enhances usability through its highly customizable interface. Users can modify themes, widgets, panels, and window behavior to suit their workflow. Whether you prefer a Windows-like layout or a more minimal, macOS-inspired design, KDE Plasma accommodates both. Despite its rich feature set, it is optimized well enough to run smoothly even on mid-range hardware, especially when combined with proper system tuning.
Manjaro also provides powerful graphical utilities such as the Settings Manager and the Pamac package manager. Pamac allows users to install, update, and remove software easily, including access to the Arch User Repository (AUR), which significantly expands available software beyond official repositories. This makes it ideal for users who want both convenience and access to a vast ecosystem of applications.
In terms of performance and stability, Manjaro KDE can be very reliable when updates are managed carefully. While it is generally stable, users are encouraged to follow update announcements and avoid partial upgrades. With proper maintenance, it delivers a fast, responsive, and visually polished Linux experience suitable for both daily use and more advanced tasks.
