I know it's a new release and from a new to Linux user, but I use this daily and have installed it on my parents Macbook Pro 2008, they have enjoyed having a OS with the latest chrome able to function again.
Linux Mint may not be the most hardcore OS, but LastOSLinux makes sure to make finding games, apps and the tools home users need, LLStore has made it possible to install Vanilla Mint and use that to customise the OS quickly to only have the tweaks and apps/games I wanted. So even if you don't enjoy the default LastOSLinux experience, there isn't anything stopping you using LLStore on a distro of your choice, it doesn't work with Distro's without a package manager or Atomic releases - so don't try it on Bazzite, Steam or Fedora SilverBlue etc, that said you can use LLStore on them to install most of the available Games (including the WINE ones) as these install to the users folder and are generally portable.
Yes the project is new, but with the recent uptake in interest have given reviews with feedback to improve things, the next public release will be Mint v22.2 based, so plenty of time to get it even easier and streamlined for new users.
As it's based on Linux Mint, there is no need to worry about it not being supported as it is exactly the same as mint with a layer on top - provided by LLStore, so that has it's own support page, else use Ubuntu or Min't forums and social groups to get supported, even the upgrades will work as intended, so you wont be left behind on a distro that can't be updated :)
