KaOS is a desktop Linux distribution that features the latest version of the KDE desktop environment, the Calligra office suite, and other popular software applications that use the Qt toolkit. It was inspired by Arch Linux, but the developers build their own packages which are available from in-house repositories. KaOS employs a rolling-release development model and is built exclusively for 64-bit computer systems.

 It's the best KDE I tried so far. The opinions from the creator are a match to mine.

Package manager is pacman although this distro is not based on arch or its derivatives.

You get KDE as an Desktop Environment and packages are built with qt ui libs, with very few exceptions.

Additional packages are available as KCP which is the AUR equivalent of the arch world.

Own packages are easily created using known pacman based PKGBUILD instructions and are such easily identifiable and removed without traces apart from left-over user configurations.

It's only available as x86_64 so other architectures will have to use something else.

 The live iso didn't boot in a Proxmox VM. If they managed to screw that up, I can imagine the quality of other things in this distro. I looked through their documentation, but didn't find anything relevant. But his looks like an Arch-based distro (maybe closer to Manjaro). So just take Manjaro and use it instead of this distro. Manjaro has a much wider user base and gets more extensive support than KaOS. Their FAQ says, it's better than Arch because it makes choices for the user. But I don't see it as advantage.

 I'm just installing from yesterday and it's a amazing distro with KDE from Kaos and for me it's the best KDE i have try from long time ago.
Very stable, i install the option Mini on the Calamares Installer.
KDE is smooth, fast without any bug like some other distro with a bad integration of KDE inside the OS.
easy to install more packages and update.

Thank you for all the team who are working on KaOS,

I recommend you to install and to test and why not to use on daily :), one thing is missing about the wifi driver broadcom B43 not working, i have to switch usb wifi.
