Guix System (formerly Guix System Distribution, or GuixSD) is a Linux-based, stateless operating system that is built around the GNU Guix package manager. The operating system provides advanced package management features such as transactional upgrades and roll-backs, reproducible build environments, unprivileged package management, and per-user profiles. It uses low-level mechanisms from the Nix package manager, but packages are defined as native Guile modules, using extensions to the Scheme language.

 It seems interesting, but I couldn't start install.iso 1.5.0 i686 - kernel panic!

The install.1.5.0.x86-64.iso starts, but then hangs with a black screen.
I tried it on two different (old) computers.

One was an HP Tower DC7900 (2006).
The other was an HP Laptop NX9420.

No success.Perhaps it's due to the processor architecture, or the .iso file is corrupted.

I've also tried different USB drives.
USB ISO created with ddCopy.Maybe I'll try again later.

The download page should include a note about the absolute minimum hardware configuration for Guix.

 Works only with Mate, impossible to work with KDE version, windows are blocked on the top of the screen. It's impossible to close those windows. Installation process is clean, no problem on that. Update are not possible in KDE, calling discover has no effect, shutdown also freezes without closing the system. I'll not use that Guix distribution, perhaps not mature enough. I did not try with Gnome. The installation process is the most positive point of this distribution. Clearly not a system to begin with Linux
