GuideOS is a beginner-friendly German Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch. It is created in collaboration with LinuxGuides.de, a German-language project offering comprehensive documentation, courses and support for Linux and open-source software. GuideOS deploys the user-friendly Cinnamon desktop, develops a well-designed Welcome screen, and provides a collection of popular software applications, all localised into German.

This distro runs like a German BMW 6-cylinder engine. No problems at all, and it's a real joy to use.

For me, as a German, the fact that everything is in German from the start is an absolute dream! Please keep up the good work.

All the programs a typical Linux user needs are either already included or can be easily installed. The system even runs flawlessly on my old mid-2011 Apple iMac.

I can only recommend that every new Linux user try GuideOS.

I wish the GuideOS team continued success and all the best for the future.

 I liked this distro, but unfortunately I couldn't change the language to Brazilian Portuguese or English; the system seemed unchangeable. The disappointment was huge. Maybe they'll change that in the future.

And another thing, I searched their website and couldn't find anything that could help me.

Disappointment is the right word.

I've already installed distros in Chinese, Arabic, Italian, French, Spanish. A German distro made by Germans, only for Germans to use.

I'm going to uninstall it from my laptop and hope they change that.

 GuideOS will reach the top, in the near future. The developers have fulfilled every aspect of the normal user. It has lot of tools to customise the desktop without going through editing the configs or installing extensions - simple and straight forward. I suggest to use Debian Testing branch for the latest and the greatest software so that the users won't feel 'its out-dated'. The installation packages could be reduced to have minimum things - for eg the wallpapers could have been reduced to a fewer files; the gnome software tool would have been removed (the inseparable one).
