Fedora (formerly Fedora Core) is a Linux distribution developed by the community-supported Fedora Project and owned by Red Hat. Fedora contains software distributed under a free and open-source license and aims to be on the leading edge of such technologies. Fedora has a reputation for focusing on innovation, integrating new technologies early on and working closely with upstream Linux communities. The default desktop in Fedora is the GNOME desktop environment and the default interface is the GNOME Shell. Other desktop environments, including KDE, Xfce, LXDE, MATE and Cinnamon, are available. Fedora Project also distributes custom variations of Fedora called Fedora spins. These are built with specific sets of software packages, offering alternative desktop environments or targeting specific interests such as gaming, security, design, scientific computing and robotics.

 I'm on Fedora KDE full time at home since 2009. I was only upgrading even versions around a month or two after they came out. But since version 24 it's too easy to upgrade, it's a pleasant activity that I do in the hours the new release come out. Never had a single problem. I was more of an install from scratch person but ... everything works perfect with the upgrades. I am a software developer. I use netbeans, eclipse, visual studio code, android studio with virtualbox, MySQL and Postgres. I use VMs for visual studio C# and delphi. I just need a good system to get work done. I am always wondering why people use Gnome. Why it's the default option on many distros.

 Like somebody has noticed, life psna of proprietary drivers is very short.
Every kernel upgrade makes my heart beat faster.
Once is the upgrade process is successful, another time I was left without WiFi.
Generally, I like Fedora, the rest of things was stable.
Stuff like some prompts about some error with Java, exclamation mark
on Network Manager icon or something like that is a common and inherent feature of this system.
I want to use it, but I must admit that this is not a system for a normal user,
only for technicians, developers, etc.
As a normal user I cannot recommend it to same group of users.
If you're Linux administrator, developer, etc. try it,
it's a nice and an interesting project system for you.

 Very little software in repos; too strict rules on what's allowed. Without a doubt not as stable as Ubuntu and only slightly newer software.

Dnf is very slow compared to apt-get and pacman. I have very little reason to consider fedora from Lubuntu.
