EndeavourOS is a rolling-release Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. The project aims to be a spiritual successor to Antergos, providing an easy setup and a pre-configured desktop environment on an Arch base. EndeavourOS offers both off-line and on-line install options. The off-line installer, Calamares, uses the KDE Plasma desktop by default. The on-line installer can install optional software components, including most popular desktop environments.

 EndeavourOS is the first Linux distribution that genuinely feels like home.

After testing many systems on real hardware, it’s the only one that gives me a truly effortless out‑of‑the‑box experience. Nothing is bloated, nothing gets in my way, and I don’t waste time removing snaps, toggling free/non‑free modes, swapping ffmpeg builds, or cleaning up features I never asked for. People often criticize Windows for requiring debloating, but many Linux distros suffer from the same problem. EndeavourOS simply doesn’t.

What I get instead is a clean, functional system where everything works immediately. I just install the software I want and apply my usual personal tweaks. It’s the most comfortable environment I’ve used: fully open, fully flexible, and never restrictive. Yes, that freedom comes with responsibility, but if you know what you’re doing, the downsides are minimal.

I also appreciate that EndeavourOS barely touches the desktop environment. With KDE, unchecking a small optional package during installation gives me a pure, vanilla setup. Exactly how I like it.

Despite the stereotype that Arch‑based rolling releases are unstable, my experience has been the opposite. It’s one of the most stable systems I’ve run. I stick to the official repos on the host and use AUR inside Distrobox, and everything stays rock solid.

It’s not a distribution for absolutely everyone, but it’s the one that finally helped me understand Linux more deeply thanks to its terminal‑centric approach.

For me, it’s a well‑deserved 10/10

What's not to like?

I've tried a lot of distro's over 25 years on 'Distrowatch'.

This is the best one for me and meets my needs for my equipment. Program and software app updates are daily. Something that you need to get use too. If you wait too long updating your system you may run into issues and time constraints. Just my opinion.

If your a Windows user you best experiment with what feels comfortable to you.

There are no guarantees in Life.

Experience is your best teacher.

 EndeavourOS delivers a genuine Arch experience with a polished installer, clean defaults, and zero unnecessary bloat. It stays close to upstream Arch while removing the painful entry barrier. Updates are fast and reliable, hardware support is excellent, and system performance feels consistently responsive. The project respects user control without forcing vendor ecosystems or artificial restrictions. Documentation and community support are strong without toxic gatekeeping. It is a rare balance of freedom, stability, and usability. Fully deserves 10/10.
