BigLinux is a Brazilian Linux distribution localised into Brazilian Portuguese (with support for English). It is was originally based on Kubuntu, but starting from 2017 the distribution was re-born based on deepin. It then offered two desktop environments - Cinnamon and Deepin. In 2021 the distribution switched bases and desktop environments again, migrating to Manjaro Linux and using the KDE Plasma desktop.

 Good evening everyone. I'm a relatively new Linux user and, out of curiosity and recommendation, I decided on a new distro, Biglinux, for my computer, and I must say it has surprised me very positively. One of the first things that captivated me was its fantastic optimization; the experience of running applications, including games (which I had downloaded for testing), ran better on this system than on my old Windows PC. It's quite practical and intuitive. I highly recommend Biglinux. I'd even say it has become my main distro.

 I have been running Linux Mint Mate on my old Gateway computer and Linux Mint Cinnamon on my Acer Aspire desktop. Like Mint but on the Acer desktop it sometimes freezes, also runs a bit slow. I decided to try Big Linux on my mini pc that I recently purchased.

This mini was installed with Windows 11 pro. Needless to say, I hated Windows 11 for multiple reasons. The final straw was after it made 4 USB jump drives totally unrecognizable to my computers (including the mini running Windows 11) after I tried installing Linux boot files using Balena Etcher. My disk analyzer program on Mint reinstalled the disk image and new partition, making them usable again.

The install for Big Linux was fast and easy. Big runs great and it's faster than Mint. Love pretty much everything about it. Have not experienced any freezes, like sometimes occur on Mint. My only con is I have not figured out how to get Warpinator to work properly if I have the firewall for plasma installed. I am pretty sure it's my lack of knowledge in setting up that firewall though.

All in all, I would recommend Big Linux, especially for beginners wanting to switch from more recent versions of MS Windows. They will find similar features and ease of use. I personally removed all the MS and Google preinstalled programs as I do not want them.

 Well I installed BigLinux on my Dell Latitude E7450 without any issues. Install was great and then I started going through the various icons and not all of them have been fully translated into English and still show up in Spanish or whatever language it is. That is a huge no no in my book.

I want to like this distro, but if those that are working on it can't even fully translate all of the distro into English, nope, not gonna happen. So I will be searching for another one to put on my laptop which was running Zorin OS 18.
