Thanks to its immutable concept, there’s not much you can accidentally break, and Bazaar as a Flatpak app store makes installing programs super simple. I’ve been using Bazzite for a few months now and everything just works. To be fair, I’m also lucky enough to have an all-AMD system (CPU/GPU), which probably causes far fewer headaches than PCs with an Nvidia GPU. I mainly use my PC for gaming and office work and it runs perfectly fine on Bazzite. Even my little coding adventures don’t cause any trouble. All my Steam games work out of the box, and even new releases like Arc Raiders were playable right away! I’m honestly extremely happy and will definitely stick with Bazzite for the next few months. There is one small thing I’d love to see in the future, though: compared to Faugus Launcher, Lutris is really hard to use. Especially when it comes to the Battle.net launcher, Lutris was a complete disaster to configure. Faugus handles everything so much better and easier. So it’d be pretty cool if, at some point, Faugus came preinstalled as a second game launcher alongside Steam, instead of Lutris. Other than that, it’s a full recommendation from me for anyone just getting into Linux and wanting to dip their toes in the water. Even as a full desktop system für daily work and other usage. Yes No Version: 43.20251114 Rating: 8 Date: 2025-11-17 Votes: 4 After more than 10 years not using any linux distro, I decided to switch to Bazzite on my gaming laptop because win11 is a disaster (possibly worse than Vista, and even ME Yep, I'm getting old.) And apart from a few issues dued to nvidia drivers not playing nice with Wayland (which Bazzite uses as the only available compositor), I'm more than happy to report that it just work,at least with the Desktop version. For people coming to linux, it's a very friendly user expérience, where everything works ootb without tinkering too much. Performance in games is similar on most games I've tested (Elden Ring, Mhw Iceborne, Cyberpunk, Control and Armored Core 6), if not better than on Windows (especiallt cyberpunk) And after a few months as my daily driver, I'm still amazed about how the system is quiet and efficient. I've seen more advanced users getting frustrated by the immutable nature of the os, and beginners might get confused by how the system manages installed program (layering vs flatpak), but for a casual use, gaming, browsing, listening to music and watch videos, it's a perfect candidate to replace Windows. I wish the community would be bigger, as super-friendly as the people on discord and discourse are, it's still hard to find help for specific issues. O Was this review helpful? Yes No Version: 43.20251114 Rating: 6 Date: 2025-11-16 Votes: 2 I am already a long time linux user on my laptops and decided to finally make the switch on my desktop after windows 10 end of life like many others, but what I can say is that this distro is NOT the alternative to steamOS that it was marketed to me as through youtube videos, reddit, search engines, etc. Steam Link doesn't work, this is something that is common to certain distros, and there is no workaround as far as I can tell. Bazzite is aware of this and they seem to have no solution for it other than to use an alternative streaming software that they package with the distro. The other headache is trying to use a separate drive to store games. With games being as large as they are these days, this is a requirement. I spent a half an hour trying to get around what should be a simple problem and realized I'd be better off installing another distro. If you don't need these features and just want to use your PC to game and limit yourself to flatpak it does run the games I played as well or better than they ran under Windows (Stalker 2 in particular) My final conclusion is that this is a distro for PCs dedicated for gaming and new linux users who just want to replace windows and get back to gaming and doing basic things like browsing the web, listening to music, etc. Was this review helpful?
