Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view:
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

I don't usually write reviews, but b1ackos deserves it.

Been running it for two weeks now. Not a single crash. Not one. Everything just works — and I mean EVERYTHING. Wi-Fi connected on first boot, audio no issues, video playback smooth. Even my weird old printer worked out of the box. When does that ever happen?

The look is exactly what I wanted. No ugly UI, no weird bright colors hurting my eyes at 2AM. Just clean, dark, and fast. Feels like the system actually respects me.

And the speed? Holy crap. My laptop used to take 40 seconds to boot. Now it's like 12. Apps open before I finish clicking. No lag, no stutter.

I've tried Arch, Fedora, Mint, PopOS — all fine, but b1ackos just gets out of my way. No bloated packages, no forced snaps, no nonsense. Just the tools I need and nothing else.

The devs clearly know what they're doing. This feels like a finished product, not a beta. If you're tired of the mainstream distros and want something that actually feels solid and different — grab b1ackos.

Honestly? Best distro I've used in years.

Rating: 10/10 — not kidding. Installed it on my main machine. Zero regrets.
