It lacks in default applications and so much else. There are much better choices, currently MX23 and Mint 21.3. All with support, forums and groups for help. I don't see how any Exton releases make any list. ExTix is sad like the rest, thrown together and zero support. After 3 installs i gave up and moved on to my list of distros that i think will be around for a few years. The days of a one person distro are over. When things go wrong users can't wait for days .... weeks for the dev to read their email. Was this review helpful? Yes No Version: 23.4 Rating: 2 Date: 2023-04-07 Votes: 0 ExTix was not worth my time to install, very poor OS. Out-of-the-box Extix Linux is bit lacking in default applications. The bundled application do not include any office packages such as LibreOffice. Games and multimedia players are sorely absent. One of my major disappointments with ExTix is its inability to have an always-on Internet connection. I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that the ISO live session does not automatically connect to the host computer’s LAN connection. There are so many better choices. Just Bad! Many things doesn't works in Extix and I also don't see the SENSE of this distro, either. It's also slow and sometimes confusing and totally messed up. No meat and no fish, as we say over here. Distros like Xubuntu, Debian, MX Linux and many others are doing right and good, but not Extix. Infact, this is the problem of a "one man show". Again: they are many BETTER distros out there!
