| Package search |
Search the DistroWatch database for distributions using a particular package. If you are looking for a distribution with the latest kernel, select "linux" from the drop-down box below and type the version number into the text box next to it. Please note that the best way to obtain the GNOME version is by searching for "nautilus", while KDE Plasma is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package. Apache 2.x is listed as "httpd". As for versioning, if no version number is provided, this page will return any recent versions of the selected package. It is also possible to perform searches for distributions which do not contain a specific package. This returns a list of distributions where the given package is not present on the installation media.
The package version search offers the ability to search for packages which are close
to a specific version, exactly equal to a specific version, greater than or less than
a given version. The second field in the search form allows visitors to switch between
these relations. Most people will probably want to use the like option as it will
search for packages close to a given version. When no version is specified, like
finds packages close to the latest version.
This page can be used to display all distributions which contain a specific package
or version of a package. We also have search pages which display a
side-by-side comparison of all packages

Parrot (48) Parrot (formerly Parrot Security OS) is a Debian-based, security-oriented distribution featuring a collection of utilities designed for penetration testing, computer forensics, reverse engineering, hacking, privacy, anonymity and cryptography. The product, developed by Frozenbox, comes with MATE as the default desktop environment.
2. MocaccinoOS (53) MocaccinoOS is an independently-developed Linux distribution that has its origins in source-based Gentoo Linux and Sabayon Linux. It uses a custom-built package manager called "Luet", which acts as a front-end for container-based software. The distribution's main features are minimalism and small footprint, ease of use, native vanilla Linux kernels, and support for most important cloud technologies. MocaccinoOS is offered in several variants, including live images with GNOME, KDE Plasma, MATE and Xfce desktops, as well as command-line-only "Minimal Desktop" edition.
3. MODICIA O.S. (61) MODICIA O.S. is a Linux multimedia distribution designed primarily for musicians, graphic designers and video makers. It is based on Debian's "stable" branch, but uses the Cinnamon desktop and a recent Linux kernel. MODICIA O.S. comes with a set of carefully-selected, open-source multimedia software and tools, such as Audacity (audio editor), Brasero (disc-burning utility), Cheese (webcam application), Curlew (multimedia converter), GIMP (graphics editor), HandBrake (video transcoder), Kdenlive (video editor), MediaInfo (tool that provides technical data about media files), mpv (media player), Peek (animated GIF recorder), RawTherapee (photo processor), XnView (image viewer), and many others. The distribution also integrates the OnlyOffice software suite for general office tasks.
4. Vanilla OS (95) Vanilla OS, a fixed-release distribution based on Debian (formerly Ubuntu, prior to version 2) with the GNOME desktop, is an immutable operating system. The core parts of the system are locked down to prevent unwanted changes and corruption from third-party applications or a faulty update.
5. Volumio (144) Volumio (formerly RaspyFi) is a Debian-based Linux distribution designed and fine-tuned exclusively for music playback. It runs on a variety of devices, typically small and cheap computers like the Raspberry Pi, but also on low-power personal computers, notebooks or thin clients. It aims to fully integrate Music Player Daemon, an open-source music player server, into the current Debian releases and to optimise it for Audiophile-quality music playback. Volumio also makes it simple to play music library directly from a USB storage device or from any network-attached storage and it also enables users to listen to web-based radio stations from Spotify, Last.fm and SoundCloud.
6. openmamba GNU/Linux (155) openmamba GNU/Linux is a distribution for personal computers that can be used on notebooks, desktops, servers and Raspberry Pi computers. It works as an installable live DVD/USB images, offering one of two desktop environments: KDE Plasma or LXQt. The distribution uses RPM packages managed through the DNF package manager. Software can also be fetched and installed from Flatpak repositories.
7. Nyarch Linux (158) Nyarch Linux is an Arch-based, rolling-release Linux distribution designed for "weebs", or non-Japanese persons interested in anime, manga, cosplay and other aspects of the Japanese culture. Some of the distribution's custom features include "Catgirl Downloader" which downloads random pictures of cute catgirls, "Nyarch Assistant", a digital companion which helps with a range of computing and real-life tasks, "Material UwU" which serves as a desktop wallpaper and theme chooser, and "Nyarch Customize", a tool to facilitate desktop layout customisations and animations. Besides the standard release, the project also provides a special variant with pre-configured proprietary NVIDIA display drivers; both come with the GNOME desktop.
8. Tsurugi Linux (182) Tsurugi Linux is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution designed to support Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) investigations, malware analysis, and Open Source INTelligence (OSINT) activities. It comes with many popular software tools to conduct an in-depth forensic or incident response investigation, as well as several special features, like device write blocking at kernel level, a dedicated Computer Vision analysis functionality, and an OSINT profile switcher. Tsurugi Linux can be used in live mode but its main goal is to be installed and to serve as the default forensics lab.
9. SysLinuxOS (186) SysLinuxOS is a Debian-based GNU/Linux live distribution designed for system administrators and system integrators. It offers a complete networking environment that is organised to integrate various software tools and has a friendly graphical interface using the MATE and GNOME desktops. SysLinuxOS was built to work right out of the box, with all networking tools already installed by default. It includes all major Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), several remote control clients, various browsers, as well as WINE, Wireshark, Etherape, Ettercap, PackETH, Packet Sender, Putty, Nmap, Cutecom, Packet Tracer, tools for serial console, and the latest stable Linux kernel.
10. Ufficio Zero Linux OS (187) Ufficio Zero Linux OS is an Italian project developing a variety of general-purpose and educational Linux distributions based on Devuan, Linux Mint and PCLinuxOS. They are aimed at professionals, freelancers, private and public entities, and schools.
11. BlueOnyx (199) BlueOnyx is a server distribution based on AlmaLinux OS. It is the mission of BlueOnyx to provide a fully-integrated Internet hosting platform that includes web, e-mail, DNS and file transfer services from a simple, user-friendly web-based interface that is easily installed on commodity hardware or virtual private server.
12. Macaroni OS (245) Macaroni OS, a Linux distribution born as an incubation project under the source-based Funtoo Linux umbrella, develops a range of binary Linux operating systems for desktops, servers and containers.
13. BackBox Linux (252) BackBox Linux is an Ubuntu-based distribution developed to perform penetration tests and security assessments. It is designed to be fast and easy to use. It provides a minimal yet complete desktop environment, thanks to its own software repositories, which are always updated to the latest stable versions of the most often used and best-known ethical hacking tools.
14. CAINE (296) CAINE (Computer Aided INvestigative Environment) is an Ubuntu-based GNU/Linux live distribution created as a project of digital forensics. It offers a complete forensic environment that is organised to integrate existing software tools as software modules and to provide a friendly graphical interface. The main design objectives that CAINE aims to guarantee are: an interoperable environment that supports the digital investigator during the four phases of the digital investigation, a user-friendly graphical interface, and a semi-automated compilation of the final report.
15. NethSecurity (332) NethSecurity is a fully-featured open source Linux firewall that streamlines network security deployment in just a few clicks. NethSecurity is a spin-off of the NethServer project. It combines multiple security features into a single platform including firewalling, intrusion detection/prevention, antivirus, multi-WAN, DNS and content filtering.
16. NethServer (345) NethServer is a Rocky Linux-based application server specifically designed for small offices and medium enterprises. It facilitates the management of applications through a user-friendly web interface. NethServer operates as a container orchestrator, a system that can manage and coordinate the deployment of various applications. The product also forms the basis of the NethSecurity firewall distribution.
17. Secure-K OS (352) Secure-K OS is a Debian-based distribution which runs from a live USB. The distribution is designed to provide secure communication and anonymous web browsing using applications such as the Tox messaging client and Tor Web Browser. Secure-K features the GNOME Shell desktop environment and is developed by LumIT SpA in Italy.
18. Dynebolic (362) Dynebolic is a GNU/Linux distribution running from a CD and able to recognise most of your devices and peripherals: sound, video, TV, network cards, firewire, USB devices and more. It is shaped on the needs of media activists, artists and creative individuals, a practical tool for multimedia production. You can manipulate and broadcast both sound and video with tools to record, edit, encode and stream, all using free software!
19. FUSS (394) FUSS is a Debian-based Linux distribution for managing an educational network. It provides server, thin client and desktop solutions based on free software that go beyond any economic or technical reasons, maintaining an ethical choice of freedom and knowledge sharing. FUSS, which stands for "Free Upgrade in South Tyrol's Schools" started in 2005 in Italy's autonomous province of Bolza, with the aim of bringing free software to schools.
20. Raspberry Slideshow (404) Raspberry Slideshow is focused on being a quick-to-set-up platform for displaying image and video files. The distribution is built for the Raspberry Pi exclusively. Insert a USB key with image/video files or a text file with image/video URIs and boot the OS: the system will display a slideshow of the media in a full-screen view using the Omxplayer.
21. Raspberry Digital Signage (406) Raspberry Digital Signage is an operating system designed for digital signage installations on the Raspberry Pi: it displays a full-screen browser view restricted to a specified resource. It shows web pages from an Internet, local area network or internal (SD-card contained) sources; there is no way to escape this view but rebooting the machine.
