| Package Search |
Search the DistroWatch database for distributions using a particular package. If you are looking for a distribution with the latest kernel, select "linux" from the drop-down box below and type the version number into the text box next to it. Please note that the best way to obtain the GNOME version is by searching for "nautilus", while KDE Plasma is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package. Apache 2.x is listed as "httpd". As for versioning, if no version number is provided, this page will return any recent versions of the selected package. It is also possible to perform searches for distributions which do not contain a specific package. This returns a list of distributions where the given package is not present on the installation media.
The package version search offers the ability to search for packages which are close
to a specific version, exactly equal to a specific version, greater than or less than
a given version. The second field in the search form allows visitors to switch between
these relations. Most people will probably want to use the like option as it will
search for packages close to a given version. When no version is specified, like
finds packages close to the latest version.
This page can be used to display all distributions which contain a specific package
or version of a package. We also have search pages which display a
side-by-side comparison of all packages
between two distributions. We also provide a package which shows the version of a selected
package in all active distributions.
Have fun and let us know how we can improve the search engine!

| Search by Distribution Criteria (Simple Search Form) |
This section allows you to search for a particular distribution based on certain criteria. Select the criteria from the drop-down and check boxes below and hit the Submit Query button to get a list of known distributions that match your choice.
The following distributions match your criteria (sorted by popularity):
1. CachyOS (1) CachyOS is a Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. It focuses on speed and security optimisations - the default Linux kernel is heavily optimised using the BORE (Burst-Oriented Response Enhancer) scheduler, while the desktop packages are compiled with LTO, x86-64-v3 and x86-64-v4, Zen 4 optimization, security flags and performance improvements. The available desktop environments, window managers and Wayland compositors include bspwm, Budgie, Cinnamon, COSMIC, GNOME, Hyprland, i3, KDE Plasma, LXDE, LXQt, MATE, Niri, Openbox, Qtile, Sway, UKUI, Wayfire and Xfce. CachyOS also ships with both graphical and command-line system installers.
2. PikaOS Linux (17) PikaOS Linux is a Linux distribution based on Debian's cutting-edge "Unstable" branch, optimised for gaming. It is designed to provide out-of-the-box gaming experience, excellent performance with up-to-date drivers and custom-tweaked Linux kernel, and a choice of GNOME or KDE Plasma desktops, with separate editions that use the Hyprland Wayland compositor.
3. KaOS (80) KaOS is a desktop Linux distribution that features the latest version of the Noctalia desktop environment, the Calligra office suite, and other popular software applications that use the Qt toolkit. It was inspired by Arch Linux, but the developers build their own packages which are available from in-house repositories. KaOS employs a rolling-release development model and is built exclusively for 64-bit computer systems.
4. d77void GNU/Linux (111) d77void GNU/Linux is a Void-based Linux distribution created to demonstrate the capabilities of Void's tools, such as void-mklive and void-packages. Originally initiated as a Void respin with the Fluxbox window manager, the project has evolved to offer a wide range of window manager, Wayland compositor and desktop environment options, including Awesome, bspwm, COSMIC, dwm, Fluxbox, herbstluftwm, Hyprland, i3wm, JWM, labwc, LeftWM, LXQt, Niri, Openbox, Qtile, River, Sway, Wayfire and Xfce. The distribution can be installed to a hard disc with the text-mode d77void-installer.
5. PrismLinux (146) PrismLinux is a minimalist distribution based on Arch Linux. The live image boots into the River Wayland compositor and a custom system installer which provides several popular desktop options available for installation, including KDE Plasma, GNOME, COSMIC and Cinnamon, as well as a customized Niri Wayland compositor. The distribution uses the long-term supported (LTS) Linux kernel compiled with kernel parameters optimised for speed and it also includes a pre-configured TLP utility for extending battery life.
6. StratOS Linux (178) StratOS Linux is an Arch-based Linux distribution which uses scripts from Bedrock Linux to include various packages and repositories from other Linux distributions. It provides several desktop variants featuring the GNOME desktop as well as the Hyprland and the Niri Wayland compositors. The project also develops several custom tools, such as StratVIM (a fork of the Neovim text editor), Rockers (a custom package manager wrapper able to fetch and install binary and source packages from other Linux distributions and from Flatpaks), Stratmacs (a custom Emacs configuration), grab (a fetch script), and Maneki-Neko (a Welcome application).
7. TileOS (350) TileOS is a Debian-based desktop Linux distribution featuring a selection of several Wayland tiling compositors, notably Sway, River, Qtile and miracle-wm. It is based on the latest stable Debian release, with some packages, such as the Mesa graphics drivers, back-ported from Debian's "Testing" repository. The distribution comes with many device drivers and non-free firmware included in the base system, some performance optimizations and system tweaks, additional repositories for installing programs not found in Debian (such as OnlyOffice, VirtualBox, Librewolf, Visual Studio Code and Brave), and the Calamares system installer.
8. RengeOS (389) RengeOS is an Arch-based Linux distribution focused on performance and maintainability. Its features include built-in recovery mode, support for the bcachefs filesystem, custom-built Linux kernel with various performance-enhancing patches, and LZ4 data compression algorithm optimized for fast compression and decompression. The distribution's default desktop user interface is niri, a scrollable tiling Wayland compositor.
