The new distribution also comes with a useful update 'watcher' - a program that periodically notifies the user about updates to LBA-Linux software." NEW • Best Linux Name Change |

Best Linux - name change and product release. There can be many reasons to change a product name, but this is one of those more entertaining reasons given by the Finland-based Linux distributor: "Changing the name back to good old SOT Linux is now possible, as Sweden is no longer our primary market focus. Several years ago we were obliged to change the name from SOT Linux, because the word 'sot' means 'disease' or 'soot' in Swedish, neither of which were considered desirable by our marketing department." The new release, SOT Linux 2002, comes in two editions, desktop and server - the desktop edition's ISO images are provided as free downloads: SOTL_2002_DESKTOP.iso (627MB). You can also get the retail version for €79 (US$70) which includes documentation and support - visit the distribution's webshop to order. Our Best/SOT Linux page has been updated and promptly renamed.
