The developers of MocaccinoOS, a set of Gentoo-based Linux distribution with several popular desktops and a custom package manager called "Luet", have announced the release of MocaccinoOS 26.03. The new version updates the Linux kernel to the long-term supported version 6.12.74: "We're excited to announce the release of MocaccinoOS 26.03. We hope you enjoy this release and the improvements it brings. Changes since 26.02: Linux kernel upgraded to 6.12.74 (LTS); COSMIC desktop environment 1.0.8 is available from our repositories; Mesa version 25.3.5; Hyprland is moved to the community repository. Issues and improvements: each ISO image now ships with the MocaccinoOS manual (we packaged it so you can install it on any system); added documentation for fcitx-based input methods, including Chinese table and phonetic engines. add out-of-the-box support for RTW89. You can extend your system with additional software using Flatpak, Docker or the community repository. We welcome your feedback - whether it's bug reports or ideas for improvements." MocaccinoOS 25.09, an updated build of the project's minimalist, Gentoo-based Linux distribution with a custom package manager called "Luet", has been released. The new build continues to be available as a set of live images featuring GNOME, KDE Plasma, MATE and Xfce desktops: "We are excited to announce the release of MocaccinoOS 25.09. With this milestone, we've updated our versioning scheme to better reflect our rolling-release nature. From now on, MocaccinoOS will follow the year.month format (YY.MM). This makes it clearer when a snapshot was published, while keeping the system continuously up to date. Changes since 1.8.4: Linux kernel is upgraded to 6.12.45 (LTS), Mesa version 25.1.9, NVIDIA drivers version 570.181 (available in repository). Issues and improvements: MocaccinoOS 25.09 builds upon the entire 1.8.x series, encapsulating significant refinements without reintroducing old issues. Highlights include: performance enhancements - across releases, binaries have been rebuilt with more aggressive compiler flags for better speed and leaner size; improved hardware and compatibility support...." The MocaccinoOS development team has announced the release of MocaccinoOS 1.8.3, a minor update of the project's minimalist, Gentoo-based Linux distribution with a custom package manager called "Luet" and a choice of four popular desktops: "Today we are releasing MocaccinoOS 1.8.3. This is mostly an upgraded version that doesn't introduce too many new features. Everything is compiled against a very recent Gentoo Portage tree. Changes since 1.8.2: Linux kernel is upgraded to 6.12.35 (LTS); Mesa version 25.1.4; Qt updated to 6.9.1; NVIDIA drivers version 570.153.02 (available in repository); KDE Plasma 6.3.5; GNOME 47.3. Issues and improvements: we are aware that MOS images are not fully EFI complaint, certain (mostly older) systems are not booting properly with EFISTUB used in our images. At the moment we do not have a proper solution and the workaround is to change your BIOS settings to boot in legacy mode. Notes for testers: additional software can be installed through Flatpak, docker or the community repository. Please give us feedback by reporting bugs or sharing your ideas with us." Continue to the release announcement for further details.
