LinEspa is a Spanish Linux distribution and live CD based on KNOPPIX and optimised for Spanish and Latin American users. The latest release, version 0.32, has been specially prepared for the International Conference of Free Software in Málaga, Spain, where some 1,000 CDs containing the distribution were given away. The most important changes in this release include a new kernel 2.6.15, addition of the AMSN messenger 0.95 with support for webcams, and new versions of Firefox (1.0.7) and Thunderbird (1.0.7). LinEspa is a KNOPPIX-based live CD optimised for Spanish and Latin American users and featuring the XFce desktop. Version 0.30 was released today. Changes and improvements include the following: graphical interface XFce 4.2.0; Mozilla Firefox 1.0.1 in Spanish; new menu for accessing applications; problems with NVIDIA graphics cards fixed; OpenOffice.org updated and pre-installed with a Spanish dictionary and spell checker; graphical boot splash (when booting from hard disk); support for ACPI; support for Windows networks from a new archive manager in XFce; option to install the live CD in text mode; support for Intel and Prism2 WiFi cards; new manager of WiFi networks (Linespa GUIFI).... LinEspa is a Spanish live CD based on KNOPPIX and featuring the XFce desktop. A new version was announced last week, but it has only now become available for download. New features in version 0.22: boot speed improvements; elimination of boot menu selection; better hardware autodetection; the addition of gnome-system-tools for configuring various system settings; kernel upgrade to 2.6.8.1; many package upgrades, including Firefox 1.0, Thunderbird 1.0, OpenOffice.org 1.1.4, GIMP 2.0.... The LinEspa distribution, a Spanish live CD with XFce, has been updated to version 0.21: "Version 0.21 of LinEspa has been released. The ISO image has been zipped so that its download size is only about one third of the complete ISO image. We have fixed some problems with the installation script, updated icons on the panel, and included several new packages that many of the users requested in our forums and the IRC channel; these include Wine 20040716, Wireless-tools, APMD and ACPI." A new version of LinEspa, a Spanish Debian-based Linux live CD, has been released. Unlike the previous version based around KNOPPIX and the KDE desktop, LinEspa 0.20 was built on top of a minimal Debian Sarge system and kept light with the inclusion of XFce, rather than KDE as the distribution's preferred desktop environment. Some of the more interesting applications shipping with LinEspa 0.20 include AMSN 0.93, aMule 2.0.0 rc5, GIMP 2.0, Mozilla Firefox 0.9.3, Mozilla Thunderbird 0.7.3, Gaim 0.82.1, XMMS 1.2.10, MPlayer 1.0, XFce 4, Xffm 4 (with Samba). 3CX Phone System is a specialist, Debian-based Linux distribution designed to run a complete unified communications platform. The 3CX client, included in the distribution, can also be installed separately on most hardware as well as the cloud. It provides a complete open standards-based IP PBX and phone system that works with popular SIP trunks and IP phones. It will automatically configure all supported peripherals and it also comes with clients for Windows, OS X, iOS and Android. The ISO image includes a free license for the 3CX PBX edition. The ISO image contains the standard Debian installer which installs a minimal system with the nginx web server, PostgreSQL database, iptables firewall and Secure Shell.
