The FydeOS project has announced the release of FydeOS 22.0, the latest stable release of the project's ChromeOS-based Linux distribution that delivers a Google Chromebook-like experience. The new release introduces a new quick share feature and changes the default search engine to Qwant (where available): "We're happy to bring you FydeOS v22 'Radiant Anatomy'. This release brings the underlying system from Chromium OS r138 to r144, improving stability while also introducing a few new features. We hope it makes your day-to-day FydeOS experience feel smoother and more seamless. Here are the key highlights of this release. Quick Share (aka Nearby Share). You can quickly send and receive files, photos and links between nearby devices — no cables or third-party tools required. During the transfer, you'll see the target device, confirm the request, and get clear progress and completion feedback, then open or save the content right away. Note: Quick Share works with devices that implement the Quick Share protocol (e.g., some Android devices and ChromeOS devices). Availability may vary by device model and region." The FydeOS project has announced the release of FydeOS 21.0, a new stable release of the lightweight operating system that carries a Linux kernel, a browser platform and a container technology driver. It provides a Google Chromebook-like experience, and it is also able to run Android and Linux applications (by activating the included Android and Debian subsystems). "We are delighted to announce the release of FydeOS 21 'Sunlit Epiphany'. This update introduces a host of new features, enhancements and stability improvements - all designed to deliver a more refined and efficient experience for you. This version includes an upgrade of the underlying Chromium OS platform from r132 to r138, ensuring you have the latest performance and security updates. New features and enhancements: enhanced launcher search with filtering - finding what you need is now faster and more intuitive, the Launcher search has been upgraded to include filters, allowing you to narrow down your search results by categories such as Apps, Files and more, for a more precise and efficient search experience; Quick Insert panel - express yourself more easily with the new Quick Insert feature, by simply pressing Windows/Command + f."
