DietPi is a Debian-based Linux distribution, primarily developed for single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi or Odroid. It also supplies builds for 64-bit x86 personal computers and virtual machines. The project's latest release, version 10.0, introduces some important changes and drops support for some old single-board computers. "The minimum Debian version supported by our scripts has been raised to Debian 12 Bookworm. Debian 11 Bullseye systems will be migrated to a dedicated branch automatically. We highly recommend to upgrade affected systems to Debian 12 Bookworm, following our guide. Once the upgrade has been done, the update to DietPi v10 will be offered on next update check or when running 'dietpi-update'. The minimum DietPi version to support direct updates to DietPi 10 from has been raised to 8.0. Older systems will go through a two-stage process, being upgraded to DietPi 9.20 on a separate branch, and afterwards further to DietPi 10 via master branch, if the Debian version requirement is met as well. DietPi-Software, ownCloud Infinite Scale - this successor of the classic ownCloud file sync and share platform has been added to our software catalogue. DietPi-Software, Uptime-Kuma - this self-hosted monitoring tool has been added to our software catalogue." Additional information is provided in the release announcement. The DietPi project, which produces a set of extremely lightweight Debian-based distributions designed primarily for single-board computers, has announced the release of DietPi 9.17. Based on Debian 13, the new version comes with a long list of enhancements: "The September 20rd, 2025 release of DietPi version 9.17 comes with faster and less disk space consuming DietPi backups, a Roon Server early access toggle, solved SPI storage flashing issues, and more. Our images are now shipped without ext3/ext4 journal and instead the dietpi-fs_partition_resize script creates it after the root filesystem has been expanded. This allows smaller images, but more importantly a properly located and sized journal, depending on the final root filesystem size and layout, potentially enhancing performance." DietPi is a Debian-based Linux distribution, primarily developed for single board computers such as the Raspberry Pi. DietPi also runs on other architectures, including x86 computers and Odroid machines. The project's latest release, DietPi 6.0, is based on Debian 9 "Stretch". "All DietPi images have been re-created. Existing installations (v159 or lower), can no longer be updated, or supported. To continue support, users must install the latest v6.0 image. All images are now Debian Stretch (excluding Odroid's) ARMbian based images are now mainline kernel 4.13+. Native PC (EFI): is now an ISO, with Clonezilla bundled. Simplifies installation via Rufus write. If you are happy with your existing installation of v159 (or lower), you are not required to install the v6.0 image, however, we cannot continue to provide support for v159 (or lower) installations. Muriqui Linux
Muriqui Linux was a Brazilian Debian-based Linux distribution incorporating the easy-to-use Anaconda graphical installer from Progeny. A special feature of this distribution was the option to install a Diskless Remote Boot Server (DRBS) automatically during the installation procedure. The principal aim of this effort was to provide a distribution specially adapted to educational environments in Brazil where the use of diskless stations for digital inclusion was growing fast and becoming a standard. The distribution has been tested in a group of "telecentres" in the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil, with excellent results.
