Robolinux is a desktop operating system and one of the project's more interesting features is the availability of a pre-configured virtual machine support pack with Windows XP, 7 or 10. The project's latest release, Robolinux 9.1, is based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and includes support for UEFI, Secure Boot and disk encryption. The Robolinux team has published a new version of their Ubuntu-based distribution. The new release is Robolinux 10.1 and is based on Ubuntu 18.04, bringing many package updates and support through to 2023. The new version is available in Cinnamon, MATE, and Xfce editions. "Robolinux has released its three brand new Raptor Series 10 Operating systems: Cinnamon, MATE 3D and Xfce v10.1 LTS 2023 versions. Robolinux is an Ubuntu-based, desktop distribution available in Cinnamon and MATE editions. The project has published a new release, Robolinux 9.2, which brings the distribution up to date with important bug fixes. There have also been a number of updates to the distribution's desktop applications: "Robolinux is very pleased to announce its newly upgraded Cinnamon & MATE 3D 9.2 LTS 2021 versions release. The main focus on this significant upgrade was to improve speed, security and stability. Both of the new Robolinux 9.2 versions have newer Linux kernels that run much faster as well as fixes for the recent x86 and x64 Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities. Users should be aware that since January 1st 2018 all Robolinux operating systems come with free expert tech support. It should also be noted that both of the Robolinux 9.2 versions provide optional UEFI support and have the newest VirtualBox version 5.2.10, the newest Firefox version 59.0.2, the newest Thunderbird version 52.7.0 and quite a significant number of very important upstream security and application updates." Robolinux is a Debian-based desktop distribution which offers pre-configured virtual machines to help users run Windows software from their Linux desktop. The project's latest version, Robolinux 8.10, is based on Debian 8. "This major Robolinux upgrade involved several months of hard work finding every way possible to improve the speed and functionality of our operating systems. We also fixed the fusion-icon dependency issue in our 3D MATE and Xfce editions and upgraded Firefox to Quantum version 57.0.1 and Thunderbird to version 52.5.2. Robolinux 8.10 also has over 200 important upstream security and application updates. All of the upgraded 32-bit and 64-bit Robolinux 8.10 operating systems come with over 120 custom-built WiFi, video and printer drivers and can run Windows XP, 7 and 10 virus-free inside. The Robolinux project, a Debian-based desktop distribution, has announced the launch of Robolinux 8.5. The new release is available in four editions (Cinnamon, LXDE, MATE and Xfce) and is based on Debian 8 "Jessie". Past editions of Robolinux have been free to try, but required a purchase to install and this has changed with the latest release as the distribution is now free to install. "Robolinux is extremely pleased and excited to announce its new upgraded Robolinux 8.5 'Raptor' Cinnamon, MATE, Xfce and LXDE with 32-bit and 64-bit variants. Undoubtedly the biggest news is that all 16 Robolinux 7 and 8 Live editions now come with a free OS installer and can be downloaded for free on SourceForge. There is no more charge for our OS installer which was how we funded third-party Linux application developers. Gaming enthusiasts will be thrilled because we added Steam to 8.5. The Robolinux project has announced the availability of a new stable release of the project's Robolinux Raptor series. The new release, Robolinux 8.4, is available in Cinnamon, LXDE, MATE and LXDE flavours and features several privacy and anti-malware tools. "All Robolinux Raptor 8.4 editions are based on 100% rock-solid current Debian 8 stable source code running the newest 3.16 Linux kernel plus over 180 important upstream security and application updates. We also included the newest Firefox 45 and Thunderbird 38.7, Tor Browser, VirtualBox and replaced all of our 32-bit end-of-life Google Chrome with Chromium. As usual all four of the upgraded 32-bit and 64-bit Robolinux editions are loaded with many popular user applications, such as I2P, many popular multimedia programs, Kazam screencaster, Google Chrome, Google Earth, Skype, VirtualBox...." 2015-12-05 Distribution Release: Robolinux 8.3
The Robolinux project has announced the availability of a new release of their commercial, Debian-based distribution. The latest version, Robolinux 8.3, includes several new multimedia applications, including Photo Filmstrip, Spotify, Blender, OpenShot and Pinta. Robolinux 8.3 also ships with Wireshark for monitoring network traffic. Additional wi-fi and printer drivers were added while Popcorntime was removed from the list of applications. "As the Christmas and holiday season was approaching Robolinux polled its user base extensively asking `What hot new apps do you want in Robolinux Cinnamon, Mate, Xfce & LXDE Raptors?' An overwhelming number of users responded with "We want more multimedia and privacy apps in Robolinux".
