A very stable system, but for home users is better to keep with openSUSE Leap. To use SLED we need to pay for support. But if you want to pay, that´s ok. One down side: there is no KDE Plasma by default on DVD. (but you can install it later)
A stable and orderly construction mechanism, a strong, efficient and standardized community culture, and strong industry partners are the inherent advantages of the SUSE system over other operating systems.
For itself, from a well-organized underlying architecture to a well-structured upper application system, SUSE is a flexible and powerful hardware and data management tool tailored to customers. I have no reason to reject it.
I like yast tools and also zypper. I like SUSE as it's design philosophy that directly promotes the efficiency of users. They do most of the work and configuration, and save users from a lot of trouble. Of course, these cannot exceed some rules of the open source community.
I like it's green logo that I think which means vitality.
I am using openSUSE Leap 42.2 this is one of the most hardware compatible OS available in Linux and Easy to install executable software. right now Live Mint and Ubuntu is used pre installed in Dell and other Laptops. I brough Dell Vostro 3568 with Ubuntu Pre Installed. However due to installation issue I had switched to OpenSUSE. Since then i found it very easy to operate. I feel SUSE Linux Entriprise Desktop would be better and stable, easy and mature options for Laptops and Desktop coming Pre Installed by OS Software.
incase SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop fine tune for Laptop Users and the OS DVD is made available in Market like Amazon, flipkart, ebay and they have Training Manual Official SUSE LINUX ENTERPRISE DESKTOP it will work better.
I found the SUSE LINUX Enterprise Desktop similar to Microsoft Windows 10 Professional is slightly costly for Laptop user
with only 3 Years of subscriptions and no installation DVD available in India.
Training is also less available. Currently Laptop do not come with Pre Installed SUSE Linux.
However it is best OS available in the market popularity is something Company needs to work out.
Pros: System gets up and running with most everything you need to have a professional workstation.
Cons: Media Codecs are missing and require either using the packman repository or compiling the codecs yourself. (not very hard).
I enjoy using the operating system and have come to like Gnome 3. Very solid, very quick. I chose to compile my own codec from instructions found on the web. There are plenty of additional repositories available to find other software you made need. For the business, I didn't need anything else. For my home use, I wanted a few things like Google Chrome, Pithos, and KmyMoney.
Unquestionably, the 'slickest' of all the distros. The SLED desktop can't be beat, and the integration and usability, just wow. The totally boo factor is that you have to pay to use longer than 6 months, totally so not FOSS. However, for sure, you may download the sourcecode and do it better (if you can).
