Although Pisi Linux has many shortcomings, its unique package manager and use of its own platform put it ahead of many other Linux distributions.
It gets full marks from me for this reason.
I hope Pisi Linux-based Linux distributions will be released soon.
It needs more advertising; people would love this operating system if they knew about it.
The fact that the desktop also uses KDE Plasma makes it a very flexible structure. In short, I recommend you try it.
Pisi Linux is a unique distribution...
If you live in early 2010s, this distribution is right for you, except some issues (like not booting due to wrong GRUB configuration)
But.. If you want recent piece of software, beware of unsupported Python v. 2 tools which can contain serious security issues.
You may not boot because of GRUB related issues
Pisi software manager is too old, not receiving any developent since Pardus breakage
You can not get help from official site: it is closed for help, because "Due to maintenance on our site, member logins and registrations have been closed."
there is not any progress in Github, almost all commits are version bumps
only partly KDE is supported
YALI may erase your drives (please unlplug any additional drive before trying to install Pisi Linux)
Localisation support is very poor, even native Turkish is lacking proper support
If you have MMC embedded storage it will not be seen by the kernel
uid/ gids will not start from 1000, so you can not import settings from another distrubutions installation
systemd is not supported, but there are not ant alternative options
lack of recent hardware support

I tried Pisi Linux hoping it will be great as a daily driver. Here was my experience. Install was easy and had a very beautiful design, Kaptan is also useful if you want to setup your desktop much easier. But, when I started doing my first update on the system, it was completely bricked. You couldn't open any app and it would go straight to sleep, upon opening, sddm was gone, I couldn't install or update anything anymore with the Pisi package manager as it needed urlgrabber(it was installed). I have tried this like 5 times, with different methods, none worked. On reboot, sddm appeared again but it was in a login loop. If it works on your computer, that's great! Pisi Linux is really good for people that want to take a break from Debian/Ubuntu based distros and would like to go with something easy, not to get on the curve of Gentoo or Arch.

i started using Pisi Linux since 2005, when its name was Pardus. it is stable, fast and has a unique package management i love Pisi. great operating system quick and easy to install. it is successfully satisfying all the needs of a workspace environment and a server environment. it's the most stable KDE distro i have used. but these days, i prefer to install Pisi Minimal with Qtile wm :) it gets even better with the latest update. i think it would be a great start for those who are new to Linux. in short, although there are so many distros, i think it should be tried and seen.

I have reviewed the first version of pardus in 2005 and the subsequent versions of pardus up to 2007.1 and 2011. The subsystems are inherited from gentoo and the pisi package manager is also inspired by gentoo. It would not be wrong to say that “Pisi Linux is a Gentoo-like operating system”. For this reason, Pisi Linux is a unique operating system. It has the potential to rival the powerful operating systems of corporations and foundations with financial power. In its current form, it is suitable to be developed and to be a base operating system that can form the basis for commercial use. It can be transformed into an operating system that can be a competitor between desktop operating systems and workstation operating systems.
