This distro runs like a German BMW 6-cylinder engine. No problems at all, and it's a real joy to use.
For me, as a German, the fact that everything is in German from the start is an absolute dream! Please keep up the good work.
All the programs a typical Linux user needs are either already included or can be easily installed. The system even runs flawlessly on my old mid-2011 Apple iMac.
I can only recommend that every new Linux user try GuideOS.
I wish the GuideOS team continued success and all the best for the future.

I liked this distro, but unfortunately I couldn't change the language to Brazilian Portuguese or English; the system seemed unchangeable. The disappointment was huge. Maybe they'll change that in the future.
And another thing, I searched their website and couldn't find anything that could help me.
Disappointment is the right word.
I've already installed distros in Chinese, Arabic, Italian, French, Spanish. A German distro made by Germans, only for Germans to use.
I'm going to uninstall it from my laptop and hope they change that.

GuideOS will reach the top, in the near future. The developers have fulfilled every aspect of the normal user. It has lot of tools to customise the desktop without going through editing the configs or installing extensions - simple and straight forward. I suggest to use Debian Testing branch for the latest and the greatest software so that the users won't feel 'its out-dated'. The installation packages could be reduced to have minimum things - for eg the wallpapers could have been reduced to a fewer files; the gnome software tool would have been removed (the inseparable one).

I tried GuideOS from a live usb stick but booting into the desktop took way too long.
I know it's a German distribution but what they need to change is the default language, currently set to German. English would have been better and would attract more users from over the world. I couldn't find any option to change the language.
The default layout isn't exactly appealing with a transparent top panel and a default cinnamon panel at the bottom. What also surprized me was that Cinnamon ships with Nightlight out of the box and was disabled, however Redshift is also installed and enabled OOTB which was annoying; not noticing at first that it was running and it took me a while to figure out why the desktop kept going back to nightlight/redshift mode while Nightlight was turned off.
Themewise it's ok but somehow the distro didn't click with me and lost interest quickly, so i didn't bother to install it on one of my computers. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Though i like the idea behind the philosophy that they listen to the community and the users have their say/input. Maybe after reading this small review they are willing to change some of the default settings in the next iteration of GuideOS.
I need a distro that gets out of my way and let me do things easily OOTB but GuideOS is not it.... yet.
It is a Linux distribution that is quick to install and already runs stably and smoothly in version 1.0. The focus is on German-speaking countries. It is a distribution based on Debian 13 that relies on the community.
Cinnamon is used as the desktop, and the proprietary PRIMO is used to install programmes, use some tools, and start a few commands that would otherwise have to be executed directly in the terminal with a click.
It is definitely worth taking a look at the homepage, and anyone looking for an alternative to Windows, for example, may have found the right OS in GuideOS.
GuideOS 1.0 runs very stable on my system, based on Debian 13 with the Cinnamon desktop environment. In daily use, it has proven to be reliable and well polished.
The onboarding experience is particularly helpful. The welcome tool “Primo Di Tutto” and the other included utilities make getting started easy and intuitive, especially for new users.
The system is highly customizable and can be easily adapted to individual preferences.
GuideOS is developed in close collaboration with its community via the Linux Guides forum, and everyone is invited to participate and contribute. Overall, GuideOS 1.0 is a solid, reliable, and beginner-friendly distribution.
