this Distro is Good for me , may be every-one .
It's a beautiful , and Elegant .
But spped is very fast , and light weight .
I try some PCs , poor is a Thnkcentre M58p (CPU:Core2DuoE6500) .
It's a OLD-PC , 15Y old .
RAM;4GB / SSD:32GB not powerfull , but speed is good .
I can see youtube movie very nice , sound is nice , too .
It's based on a ubuntu26.04 and DE is Xfce .
Xfce but notonly simple , like KDE or GNOME .
I want to try log-term use for this Distro .
このDistroは私にとって良いものでした、たぶん皆さんにもそうです。
とても美しく、優雅な感じがします。
しかし、動作はとても速く、しかも軽量です。
いくつかのPCでテストしました、最も非力なものはThnkcentreM58pでした。
これは15年も前のPCです。
メモリ4GB、ストレージは32GB-SSDで非力ですが、快適に動作しました。
youtubeの動画もきちんと再生できたし、音も良かったですね。
このDistroはubuntu26.04をベースにしていて、デスクトップ環境はXfceです。
でもXfceなのにまるでKDEやGNOMEのようで、シンプルだけではありません。
私はこのDistroを長期間テストしたいと思っています。

I have to say that I'm quite impressed with this latest release of Desert OS. There is one that I can see that needs to be addressed. When the desktop loads the bottom panel quickly moves from the top of the screen and then to its proper place at the bottom of the screen. It's nothing more than a silly distraction. All in all I am very pleased with this distro. Perhaps in the future more themes will be made available in the same manner that Feren OS features. I agree with the opion this is a project to watch.

For its target audience, DESERT OS is a smooth, snappy daily driver that breathes new life into aging hardware without the need for manual configuration. It is a polished, niche project that excels by knowing exactly who it is for, delivering a distinct visual flair and consistent performance within its intended ecosystem. DESERT OS is an impressive example of Ukrainian IT expertise. It is not designed as a mass-market product for Western Europe, but as a specialized tool for a specific region and community.
It is definitely a project to watch as it continues to differentiate itself from its parent distribution.

Я всегда мечтала об идеальном дистрибутиве Линукса, а именно: чтобы система была лёгкой (во всех смыслах) и гибкой в настройках - это однозначно XFCE, но в то же время мне нравится и гномовское окружение рабочего стола своим удобством. В дистрибутиве DESERT OS всё это органично и экологично сочетается, а также не требует большого потребления системных ресурсов. Кроме того, мне всегда хотелось, чтобы в рабочей системе присутствовали не две стандартные темы - тёмная (чёрная) и светлая (белая), а была богатая цветовая палитра. Это всё равно что продолжать смотреть чёрно-белое кино, несмотря на то, что уже есть цветные телевизоры. Это образно выражаясь. И вот, наконец-то, моя мечта сбылась - всё мои желания воплотились в жизнь, благодаря этому потрясающему разноцветному дистрибутиву Линукса! Теперь мой дистрохоппинг с одного дистрибутива на другой благополучно прекратился - я нашла свой идеал. Огромное СПАСИБО за это гениальному Разработчику DESERT OS!
Дистрибутив молодой и только развивается, поэтому есть в нём и недочёты, которые легко решаются. А именно: 1) после установки системы необходимо удалить остаточный файл rc.local в корневой директории etc (с правами root) и 2) остановить фоновые процессы, связанные с casper (при помощи Stacer). Теперь не будут больше появляться (на тёмном экране компьютера) ошибки при выходе из системы и при перезагрузке компьютера.
Несмотря на эти досадные рудименты после установки системы, я всё равно оцениваю DESERT OS десятью баллами из десяти. Это на удивление очень красивый и работоспособный дистрибутив Линукса и он несомненно заслуживает самой высокой оценки.
Обязательно попробуйте его в деле, и вам потом точно не захочется переходить на другие дистрибутивы, как и мне. :)

Currently, this OS represents a reworked version of DEKUVE Linux. In general, this approach is quite common in the Linux ecosystem, as many distributions start as forks and later evolve in their own direction. However, it would be fair and transparent if the developer explicitly mentioned in the description that DESERT OS is based on DEKUVE Linux. Despite this, the distribution itself feels convenient in everyday use, shows a clear design direction, and is gradually gaining its own identity. It will be genuinely interesting to observe how DESERT OS develops and differentiates itself in the near future.

Loved it - was easy on my old Macbook Pro late 2011, i5 with 8gb RAM.
Problem was the language settings - took some time to switch over to English - that for me was the deal breaker
Even getting the language to switch over from Russian to English, there were some elements that were still in Russian and that was a pain in the ass, guess and hoping and if you're wrong, go back and translating again.
Would be great if they have a minimal install - keep the aesthetic and install the apps you need. Felt a tad bloated but over all, a really great distro - will keep this for iron out a few things but all in all, a contender for a daily if language issues are fixed and minimal install option.

XFCE interface in a modern processing. The work invested in it is visible. Anyone who is interested in innovative solutions should definitely try it! Minor errors occur, but this does not cause serious system problems.
It provides a modern, beautiful interface with quite a few basic programs, which may be beneficial for beginners. But I would recommend it more to advanced users.
The system seems fast and stable.
Applying language settings is difficult. It requires a little expertise. I will definitely keep it on one of my drives, because using it is fun for me. A nice novelty.

Система стабильно работает. Её особенностью является красивый внешний вид, плавность и наличие приложений для быстрой настройки системы. Особенно мне нравится наличие прозрачности и блюра, что придаёт системе свежий, современный внешний вид. А адаптивное изменение цвета приложений в зависимости от обоев на рабочем столе впечатляет.
Я установил её на макбук (Intel) и все функции прекрасно работают. Также протестировал на ПК, работает чётко.
На самом деле разрабатывается система не в России а в Украине.
Рекомендую DESERT OS для ежедневного использования

I have to say that I'm quite impressed with this latest release of Desert OS. There is one that I can see that needs to be addressed.
