Adrian Arjoca has announced the release of AxOS 25.06, the latest version of the project's Arch-based desktop Linux distribution featuring a custom package manager called Epsilon. This release uses the Hyprland-based Sleex (developed in-house) as the default desktop environment: "This new 25.06 release comes with new features: Sleex is now the default desktop environment - sleek, smooth and crafted for AxOS; new installation kits, no more useless bloat; choose your vibe - Artist, Developer, Hacker; new SDDM theme; new AxOS packages come out of the box. Caution: AxOS (especially Sleex) is not virtual machine-friendly. Do you want to try it in a virtual machine anyway? Enable 3D acceleration or set up GPU passthrough; even then, expect some graphical hiccups and performance mood swings. Important: I need feedbacks, I can't improve AxOS without it." It features a custom package manager called Epsilon and it strives to present a modern and elegant look while remaining powerful, lightweight and customisable. The project offers two desktop options - Calla (a custom desktop environment based on the Awesome window manager) and Sleex (a custom desktop environment based on the Hyprland compositor).

Aurora OS
Aurora OS started its life as Eeebuntu, an Ubuntu-based distribution optimised for ASUS Eee PC and other popular netbooks. In June 2010, the project was renamed to Aurora OS, with a goal of becoming a more general Linux distribution for the desktop with user-friendly features.
