Joli OS
Joli OS was an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution. It was geared towards extreme user-friendliness so that any computer user can install it with just one click. Besides the standard ISO image, the distribution was also provided as a Windows executable file which can resize an existing Windows partition and install Joli OS as an alternative operating system. Other Joli OS features include heavy orientation towards web application and services, online backup option, web-based software installation interface, inclusion of proprietary hardware drivers and non-free media codecs, and extensive social networking features.

YunoHost is a Debian-based distribution which strives to make it easy to quickly set up a server and host web applications. The project has relesed a new version based on Debian 12 "Bookworm". "YunoHost now depends on Debian 12. The user portal and SSO (Single Sign On) system have been split into three distinct pieces: SSOwat now only manages the SSO/ACL logic (as a nginx Lua middleware); yunohost-portal-api: A new “portal API” service delivering authentication cookies and allowing users to retrieve/update infos; yunohost-portal: A new login and homepage web portal. Simplified subdomain addition during app install (they can now be installed with a Let’s Encrypt certificate directly from the app install form instead of going through dozens of clicks). The installation script has been reworked with a simpler flow and UI (instead of the old ncurses/whiptail). The base YunoHost setup is now lighter: MySQL/MariaDB and PHP are not installed by default anymore (apps will explicitly depend on them hence everything gets installed only when needed)." Additional information is provided in the project's release announcement. Download: yunohost-bookworm-12.0-amd64-stable.iso (691MB, SHA256, signature, pkglist). |

Distribution Release: YunoHost 11.0.9 |
|
YunoHost, a lightweight, Debian-based distribution for servers and featuring a web-based system administration tool, has been upgraded to version 11.0.9: "Following these last months of alpha and beta testing, we are glad to announce the release of YunoHost 11.0, running on Debian 11 'Bullseye'. This comes along with the latest version of the 4.4 series which includes a Buster-to-Bullseye migration tool to upgrade as simply as possible. Versions 4.x are not expected to receive any upgrades any more (except for important security fixes or migration fixes). Changelog: various tweaks for Python 3.9, PHP 7.4, PostgreSQL 13 and other changes related to Buster-to-Bullseye ecosystem; moved MySQL, PHP and Metronome from 'Depends' to 'Recommends'; apt - add sury by default; MySQL - drop super old MySQL configuration, it now relies on Debian's default; regenconf/helpers - better integration for PostgreSQL; rework repository code architecture; rework where YunoHost files are deployed; try to implement a smarter self-upgrade mechanism to prevent/limit API downtime and related UX issues...." Read the rest of the release announcement for more information. Download: yunohost-bullseye-11.0.9-amd64-stable.iso (783MB, SHA256, signature, pkglist). Installation images for the 32-bit architecture, as well as the Raspberry Pi single-board computers, are also available. |
