Daniela Häsler has announced the release of Proxmox 4.0 "Mail Gateway" edition, a specialist email proxy based on Debian GNU/Linux 7.8: "Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH has released version 4.0 of its antispam and antivirus solution, Proxmox Mail Gateway. All packages have been updated and the new version is now based on Debian 7.8. The product, available on the market since ten years, continues its focus on stability and performance. Proxmox Mail Gateway is an email security system protecting email servers from spam, viruses, trojans and phishing and is managed through an easy, web-based interface. In the integrated Proxmox Message Tracking Center users can get an overview of all email logs. The Mail Gateway can run on a physical system (bare-metal) or as a virtual appliance. For this, the customized Linux kernel already contains all the necessary drivers for QEMU/KVM (virtio), VMware tools or Hyper-V integration services." Proxmox Virtual Environment is an open-source virtualisation platform for running virtual appliances and virtual machines. The company's latest release, version 9.1, continues to refine the 9.x branch, which is based on Debian 13 "Trixie". The Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE) distribution is is a Debian-based, open-source virtualisation platform for running virtual appliances and virtual machines. The project's latest release, Proxmox 8.3 Virtual Environment, improves its software-defined networking while also updating its kernel and ZFS packages. "This version is based on Debian 12.8 (Bookworm), but uses the Linux kernel 6.8.12 as stable default and allows for opt-in use of kernel 6.11. The software includes updates to the latest versions of leading open-source technologies for virtual environments like QEMU 9.0.2, LXC 6.0.0 , and ZFS 2.2.6 (with compatibility patches for Kernel 6.11). Alignment of the Software-Defined Networking (SDN) stack with the firewall: The SDN technology allows users to create virtual zones and networks (VNets), enabling them to effectively manage and control complex networking configurations and multitenancy setups via the web interface of Proxmox VE. The SDN stack is now more closely integrated with the firewall, with the ability to automatically generate IP sets for VNets and virtual guests managed by the IP address management plugin. Gooroom Platform
Gooroom Platform is a Debian-based Linux distribution designed for cloud computing. It is developed in South Korea by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Security Research Institute under the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). It is mainly intended for use by domestic Korean companies, although installation ISO images and the project's software enhancements are available to general public. Gooroom (which stands for "cloud" in Korean) also develops Gooroom Browser (a fork of Chromium) and various desktop utilities. As the graphical user interface the distribution uses GNOME Flashback with the Metacity window manager.
