Steven Shiau has announced the release of Clonezilla Live 2.0.1-5, a new stable build of the project's live CD with specialist open-source software for disk backup and cloning tasks: "Stable Clonezilla Live (2.0.1-5) released. This release of Clonezilla Live includes minor enhancements and bug fixes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded, this release is based on the Debian 'sid' repository (as of 2012-11-26); Linux kernel was updated to 3.2.32; package drbl was updated to 2.1.34-drbl1, and Clonezilla was updated to 3.1.22; a KMS mode was added in the boot menu; Partclone was updated to 0.2.56; packages tcplay and mpg123 were added; boot parameter 'ocs_lang' is now replaced by 'locales' from live-config; boot parameter 'ocs_live_keymap' is now replaced by 'keyboard-layouts' from live-config...." Clonezilla Live is a Debian-based live CD containing Clonezilla, a partition and disk cloning software similar to Norton Ghost. It saves and restores only used blocks in hard drive. With Clonezilla, one can clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.

Steven Shiau has announced the release of Clonezilla Live 2.6.2-15, the latest stable build of the project's specialist Debian-based live image featuring Clonezilla, a partition and disk imaging/cloning application: "This release of Clonezilla Live includes major enhancements and bug fixes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system has been upgraded, this release is based on the Debian Sid repository as of 2019-07-07; Linux kernel has been updated to 4.19.37; live-config has been updated to 5.20190519; make sure label will have one name only in update-efi-nvram boot entry; improve the mechanism to update UEFI nvram boot entry - it's the same way as boot-local-efi.cfg; default to run ocs-update-initrd for the restored OS when running ocs-sr - this helps to make initramfs work for different hardware, especially the GNU/Linux distributions which use dracut, e.g. CentOS; language files have been updated; the boot menu has been sorted - KMS with large font (for HiDPI monitors) is now at 1st level with hotkey 'l'; two more menus were added in uEFI boot menu - uEFI firmware setup and Clonezilla Live version info." Steven Shiau has announced a new release of Clonezilla Live. Clonezilla Live is a Debian-based distribution which can be used to create disk and partition images, transfer those images and clone them to a different device. The project's release announcement mentions the following improvements available in Clonezilla Live 2.6.1-25: "Enhancements and changes from 2.6.0-37: The underlying GNU/Linux operating system has been upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository as of 2019-04-20. From this release the amd64 edition works for UEFI Secure Boot. The Linux kernel has been updated to 4.19.28. Partclone has been updated to 0.3.12+git00e0212. Package ezio-static has been updated to 1.1.8. Package vbetool has been added. Package mbmon has been added. Add USB NIC modules in initramfs of live system. A new mode for Clonezilla lite server has been added - massive deployment from raw device using the BitTorrent mechanism. For Clonezilla 'lite' sever, change ezio_seeder_extra_opt as ezio_seeder_opt. Add two more options - ezio_leecher_opt and ezio_common_opt in drbl-ocs.conf." Clonezilla Live provides tools for backing up, restoring and copying disk images and disk partitions either locally or across the network. The project's latest version includes several updates and fixes. "The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian 'Sid' repository as of 2019-01-08). Linux kernel has been updated to 4.19.13; Partclone to 0.3.12; ldmtool and haveged packages have been added; cURL has been added; NetworkManager has been added so that users can use 'nmtui' to configure network if necessary, especially for WiFi; making unknown fs as 'dd' and the image name for partition like sda3.dd-img.aa is now legacy - it has been replaced by sda3.dd-ptcl-img.lzma.aa; rewrite the same mechanism in ocs-onthefly; in addition to massive-deployment mode, the interactive-client mode was added so that lite server can provide the ability to enter interactive mode of Clonezilla Live in client; let live-build 20180618 handle uEFI boot, so ocs-put-signed-grub2-efi-bldr and ocs-gen-grub2-efi-bldr are deprecated." Enhancements and changes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system has been upgraded, this release is based on the Debian 'Sid' repository as of 2018-03-30; Linux kernel has been updated to 4.15.11; Partclone has been updated to 0.3.11 with some libraries also updated; new image format is used in this release, it is different from the one saved by Partclone 0.2.x; new massive deployment mechanism BitTorrent was added; Clonezilla has to convert the original image to the special format when BitTorrent mode is used and this will require more disk space in the image repository; switch keymap configuration method from console-data to keyboard-configuration." Bug fixes: choose 'Enter_shell' should not give any error; timezone issue; remove partprobe command after ocs-scan-disk, sometimes it delays the GPT partition to be shown in /proc/partitions."
