Distribution Release: SuperGamer 6 |
|
SuperGamer is an Ubuntu-based distribution intended to showcase gaming capabilities and options on Linux. The distribution's latest release, version 6, is based on Ubuntu 20.04 and includes new NVIDIA video drivers. The release announcement on the project's forum reads: "I am proud to announce the release of the SuperGamer v6. This is using the new 20.04 base. I have included some Games as well as Game Manager Installers. This release is going forward with the 5.6.14 Linux kernel built for low lattency and unpatched. NVIDIA drivers work from the Installer on this kernel. I also included some more wallpapers and fixed some of the Ryzen 3 onboard graphics issues. This should work for both Legacy and UEFI, but as always your mileage may vary with different motherboards and BIOSs." The live ISO image file is available as a compressed ZIP archive stored on a Google Drive account. Download: SG6-5.6.14.zip (1,393MB, pkglist). |

The new release of SuperGamer is based on Ubuntu 19.10, featuring a recent Linux kernel (version 5.3) and an Xfce 4.14 user interface with a Whisker menu. "The SuperGamer version 5 has arrived. It is based upon the Ubuntu 19.10 base, is 64-bit ONLY, and it has the 5.3 kernel and Xfce 4.14. I have included installers for Steam, Lutris and PlayOnLinux as well as cleaned up the look and feel of it. UEFI support is still hit and miss with the new GRUB, but it does work in Live mode."
