A new stable version of GParted LiveCD, a Debian-based specialist distribution with a collection of hard disk management utilities, has been released. What's new? "This release is a bug-fix release with some minor updates; based on Debian 'Lenny' on 2008-11-27, Linux kernel 2.6.26; a program called MC_HxEd was added; package cryptsetup was added; instead of entering X window automatically, we can choose to configure xorg.conf first; new mechanism to start GParted LiveCD; two more boot parameters gl_numlk and gl_capslk were added to control numlock and scrlock; ifupdown and dhcp3-client were added; bug fixed - PartImage was missing." At the same time, the project has also announced a new testing release of GParted LiveCD 0.4.0-1, with the newly released GParted 0.4.0 and Linux kernel 2.6.26. Curtis Gedak has announced the release of GParted Live 0.29.0-1, the latest upgrade to the popular live CD with a collection of specialist tools dedicated to managing disk partitions and rescuing files. This release includes the new GParted 0.29.0 software and fixes a couple of bugs: "The GParted team is pleased to announce a new stable release of GParted Live. This release includes GParted 0.29.0, patches for libparted for FAT file system operations, and other improvements. Items of note include: includes GParted 0.29.0 which adds the following enhancements since the last stable release - add support for UDF file system, fix segmentation fault on disk with corrupted FAT file system, fix snap-to-alignment of operations creating partitions; based on the Debian 'Sid' repository as of 2017-08-08); Linux kernel updated to 4.11.11-1; package udftools added; includes patched version of libparted which fixes check FAT32 crashes an resized FAT32 not recognized by Windows." Curtis Gedak has announced the availability of a new version of the GParted Live Linux distribution. GParted Live provides users with a Debian-based live CD with which to manipulate, rescue and rescue disk partitions from within a graphical user interface. The latest version, GParted Live 0.28.1-1, features version 4.9.6 of the Linux kernel and offers the ability to work with LUKS encrypted file systems. "The GParted team is pleased to announce another stable release of GParted Live. This release includes GParted 0.28.1, patches for libparted for FAT file system operations, and other improvements. This release includes partial read-write support for LUKS encrypted file systems. GParted can't create, open or close LUKS encryption volumes; however it can copy, resize and manipulate file systems inside open LUKS volumes and move closed LUKS volumes. The new release ships with version 4.5.1 of the Linux kernel and has added progress bars for several file system copy operations. The developers of GParted Live, a Debian-based live distribution for managing disk partitions, have announced the launch of a new version of their distribution. The new version, GParted Live 0.24.0-2, is based on the latest Debian Unstable packages and includes the ability to detect ZFS storage pools. "The GParted team is pleased to announce a new stable release of GParted Live. This release includes GParted 0.24.0 which detects ZFS file systems, recognizes NVMe devices, prevents a hang when labelling fat16/32 file systems if illegal characters in label, and prevents a core dump if invalid or non-existent device paths are passed on the command line. The developers of GParted Live, a live CD distribution which provides tools for managing hard drive partitions, have announced the availability of GParted Live 0.23.0-1. The new release is based on Debian's Unstable branch and fixes a number of bugs, including one which would cause the interface to hang during disk operations. The new release also includes additional hardware support, thanks to version 4.1 of the Linux kernel. "The GParted team is happy to announce a new stable release of GParted Live (0.23.0-1). This release includes GParted 0.23.0 which permits naming a GPT partition on creation, displaying the serial number in device information panel, and preventing a user interface hang when resizing FAT16/32, HFS and HFS+ file systems. Curtis Gedak has announced the availability of GParted Live 0.22.0-2, a Debian-based live disc which provides a graphical environment that facilitates disk management. This release offers an updated Linux kernel (4.0.2), improved UEFI boot support and has been tested (and confirmed to work) on a range of Intel, ATI and NVIDIA video cards.
