GParted LiveCD has been updated to version 0.3.4-6: "GParted LiveCD 0.3.4-6 has been released. Changes: we now use Squashfs LZMA witch allows best compression and reduces the file size to 45 MB; upgrade to X.Org 7.2 offers better support and auto-detection for video and resolution, but old mkxf86config is still available as an option in GRUB, if needed; the new 'Macbook' option fixes the double keystroke issue with Mac; two new scripts are born to help users to build GParted LiveUSB - first one can be used to mount a USB key and also offers the possibility to run the second one, which copies needed files to the freshly attached USB stick and apply syslinux to make it bootable; kernel has been updated to 2.6.20.6." GParted Live is a business card-size live CD distribution with a single purpose - to provide tools for partitioning hard disks in an intuitive, graphical environment. The distribution uses X.Org, the light-weight Fluxbox window manager, and the latest 4.x Linux kernel. GParted Live runs on most x86 machines with a Pentium II or better.

Curtis Gedak has announced the release of GParted Live 0.33.0-1, the latest stable version of the project's specialist live CD with a collection of disk partitioning and data rescue tools: "The GParted team is pleased to announce a new stable release of GParted Live. This release includes GParted 0.33.0, updated packages and other improvements. Items of note include GParted 0.33.0 which adds the following enhancements: support copying and moving of unsupported partition content; add MINIX file system support; recognise APFS Apple file system; GTK+ 2 code modernisation; based on the Debian Sid repository as of 2018-12-14; Linux kernel updated to 4.18.20. This release of GParted Live has been successfully tested on VirtualBox, VMware, BIOS, UEFI and physical computers with AMD/ATI, NVDIA and Intel graphics. Note that the default boot options does not display an X desktop on old Acer Aspire laptops. The workaround is to select 'Other modes' of GParted Live and choose 'GParted Live (Safe graphics setting, vga-normal)'. If this issue occurs on a 64-bit computer with UEFI then try the amd64 image." GParted Live is a minimal Linux distribution which runs a light desktop environment to provide access to disk partitioning tools, in particular the GParted disk management software. The project's latest version, GParted Live 0.32.0-1, is based on Debian's Unstable branch and includes fixes for shrinking LVM volumes and respecting minimal file system sizes. The release announcement states: "This release includes GParted 0.32.0, updated packages and other improvements. Items of note include: Includes GParted 0.32.0 which adds the following enhancements: Implement opening and closing of LUKS mappings. Fix can't shrink LVM partition due to pvresize prompt. Curtis Gedak has announced the availability of a new version of the GParted Live Linux distribution. GParted Live provides users with a Debian-based live CD with which to manipulate, rescue and rescue disk partitions from within a graphical user interface. The latest version, GParted Live 0.28.1-1, features version 4.9.6 of the Linux kernel and offers the ability to work with LUKS encrypted file systems. "The GParted team is pleased to announce another stable release of GParted Live. This release includes GParted 0.28.1, patches for libparted for FAT file system operations, and other improvements. This release includes partial read-write support for LUKS encrypted file systems. GParted can't create, open or close LUKS encryption volumes; however it can copy, resize and manipulate file systems inside open LUKS volumes and move closed LUKS volumes. The new release ships with version 4.5.1 of the Linux kernel and has added progress bars for several file system copy operations.
