Overclockix 3.79 has been released: "An all new Overclockix ISO hits the net today! This one features prelinking, KDE 3.4.2, and many new tools. Build 3.79 is the first Overclockix ISO ever with the boinc DC project, also now with apt-build and the beginnings of optimizing select packages for i686. This ISO has the LTSP/wine folding service found in Overclockix LTSP_2.1, with many improvements thanks to co-developer Overdoze. Also included is my own Linux folding@home service, which you can try out as an alternative. I skipped on some of the more recent KNOPPIX builds due to bugs with Unionfs and broken captive-ntfs support, but I have been planning a limited edition DVD release based on KNOPPIX 4.0." Read the rest of the release announcement on the project's home page. The ISO image is available for download via BitTorrent: Overclockix_3.79.iso.torrent (700MB).

About Overclockix
|
Overclockix started as a KNOPPIX-based live CD featuring a host of tools for network security, low-level hardware tweaking, burn-in applications, and distributed computing clients. It went dormant in 2005, but was revived again in 2011 as a Debian-based live CD "aimed at overclockers for stress testing, distributed computing and as a general Linux toolkit."

Overclockix 3.8 has been released: "All new Overclockix 3.8 with Unionfs, 2.6.11 kernel, prelinking, KDE 3.4, and many new tools. Version 3.8 is the first build ever with boinc DC project, now also with apt-build and the beginnings of optimizing select packages for i686. Distribution Release: Overclockix 3.4_V3 |
|
This is a newly updated release of the Overclockix 3.4 live CD: "New 3.4 release is finished. Mostly minor bugfixes in this release. Also worthy of news - I've been assisting the developer of Barnix/DebXPde with ISO hosting. Barnix is a custom KNOPPIX which uses XPde as the default desktop environment. It should look and feel very much like Windows XP. I hope in the future to incorporate XPde as an option in Overclockix, but will probably not set it as the default desktop."
