Development Release: WHAX 3.0 Beta 1 |
 |
WHAX is a new name of what used to be called Whoppix, a security and penetration testing live CD. While Whoppix was based on KNOPPIX, the new WHAX is now based on SLAX: "WHAX is so longer based on KNOPPIX, but on SLAX, a Slackware live CD. One of the main reasons I decided to try this is due to the wonderful world of modularity which SLAX uses. For us, this modularity means that we can easily customize our version of WHAX, and include whichever modules we like. All the tools have been compiled to 'WHAX Modules' which can be easily added or removed, depending on our needs." The first development release of the new WHAX live CD 3.0 is now available for download and testing from here: whax-3.0-beta1.iso (506MB, MD5). More information can be found on the project's new web site at IWHAX.NET.
