NEW • Distribution Release: Blin Linux 2.0 |

Blin is a Slackware-based Ukrainian live CD with support for Ukrainian and Russian. The Desktop edition of Blin Linux 2.0 was released a few days ago and is now available for free download. New features: the system is built on top of kernel 2.6.10; the default encoding is now UTF-8 (KOI-8 is also provided as an option); the desktop component is based around X.Org with a combination of WindowMaker, Rox, GNOME and SuxPanel; the system is designed to require a fairly low amount of resources, but at least 128MB of RAM is recommended; several GTK1, GTK2 and Qt-based applications are included. | Blin Linux is a stable, fast, universal, multi-purpose and 100% free Linux operating system for x86 processors. It doesn't need to be installed on a hard disk as it is run directly from the bootable CD. The comfortable graphical user interface and excellent support for Cyrillic alphabet (Russian, Ukrainian...) makes Blin Linux a useful alternative to similar existing products. It is designed for novice users who have just started using Linux as well as for experienced system integrators.

Distribution Release: Blin 1.3 |

The developers of Blin Linux have released Blin Linux 1.3 GNOME2 Edition. This is the distribution's first release based on GTK+2 and GNOME2, with updates of all GNOME applications. It is based on the 2.4.23-pre2 Linux kernel, glibc 2.3.2 and XFree86 4.3.0, a good combination for most modern hardware. Version 1.3 comes with office applications, support for popular printers, Java (jre-1.4.3) and Flash Player. See the full release announcement (in Russian) and the package list for further details. Linux Mangaka
Linux Mangaka was a desktop Linux distribution originally designed primarily for the fans of Japanese Manga and Anime, but eventually evolving into a complete, beginner-friendly operating system with complete multimedia support. Based on Ubuntu with GNOME and Google desktop, the distribution includes a large variety of programs for graphics design, many freely available Google applications, a number of games, and an innovative set of desktop themes.
