A new beta version of the Gnoppix live CD has been released. This version includes the very latest GNOME 2.8 as packaged by the developers of Ubuntu Linux: "The Gnoppix Project is pleased to announce Gnoppix 0.8.1b7. Gnoppix 0.8.1x-Series comes with GNOME 2.8 and Linux kernel 2.6. Please note that this is still a beta which comes without an installer. The final release is expected soon." | Gnoppix AI Linux is a Debian-based distribution which can be run from a USB thumb drive or from a local drive. It is pre-loaded with essential Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks, libraries and development tools. It uses several popular desktop environments, including GNOME, KDE Plasma and Xfce. The project is an attempt to revive a Knoppix-based live distribution with the GNOME desktop that was first launched back in 2005.

Andreas Mueller has announced the release of Gnoppix AI Linux 25_10, which features the KDE Plasma desktop. While most of the project's previous releases were derived from Debian's "Testing" branch, this one is based on Debian 13 and comes with a redesigned Welcome Screen: "We're thrilled to announce the stable release of Gnoppix KDE 25.10, built atop Debian 'Trixie'. This release focuses heavily on performance and privacy, while also introducing a major overhaul to the user experience and new community features. We've tackled the issue of needing manual tweaks for optimal performance head-on. We've incorporated system and performance patches directly into the operating system. You no longer need to manually install or apply these critical fixes they are now included by default. Enhanced gaming experience - this change significantly impacts gaming. With Steam and Lutris, many Windows games now run exceptionally well, with some titles even performing faster than they do on Windows. Andreas Mueller has announced the release of Gnoppix AI Linux 25_8, a major new update of the project's Debian-based distribution with focus on privacy and security, and with integrated artificial intelligence frameworks, libraries and development tools: "Gnoppix 25.8 is built on the foundation of Debian 13 'Trixie' and incorporates new features and improvements from the latest Gnoppix beta release. This new version brings significant updates in security, privacy and performance. Core system enhancements: Gnoppix 25.8 inherits the stability and updated packages from Debian 13, this includes over 11,294 new packages and updated versions for key software; new security hardening features against ROP and COP/JOP attacks are included; this release adds HTTP boot support for compatible UEFI and U-Boot firmware; the system now includes next-generation AI integration and has replaced the Bottles application with Lutris to address security concerns; Gnoppix now prioritizes privacy by default; Firefox-ESR as the main web browser; search-us.gnoppix.org is now the default anonymous search engine...." Gnoppix is a Debian and Kali Linux-based distribution which can be run from a DVD, USB thumb drive or from a local drive. The project's latest release, Gnoppix 24.1.15, focuses on polishing the Xfce desktop experience and making Tor networking more accessible. "Our Xfce edition features a traditional desktop layout with a bottom panel and Whiskermenu as the application menu. It is using the Qogir GTK theme (vinceliuice) with the Papirus icon theme for a sleek and modern look. Blueman comes installed for all of your Bluetooth needs. The impementation of the Gnoppix AI installer is completed too, you’ll be able install hundrets of AI tools with the 1-click option. This edition has taken a lot of work, and we are excited to share it with you all! To earn its privacy credentials the distro routes all Internet-bound traffic through the Tor anonymous network. Andreas Mueller has announced the release of Gnoppix Linux 23.2, an updated version of the project's Debian and Kali Linux-based distribution with GNOME 43 as the default desktop: "We are proud to announce the release of Gnoppix 23.2, the latest version of our popular Linux distribution. This version includes many new features and improvements, including extensive bug fixes and improved performance, as well as support for the latest hardware and software. Gnoppix 23.2 also incorporates extensive user feedback, which we have been continuously working to implement in order to make our distribution the best it can be. This feedback has been crucial in helping us improve Gnoppix 23.2 and we are very grateful to our users for their help. On Perrit's request, we've added ChatGPT as a GNOME extension. We are now working on the next release, with GNOME 44, which is scheduled for release in March 23. This release will include the latest version of the GNOME desktop environment, as well as a number of other improvements and changes. Andreas Mueller has announced the release of Gnoppix Linux 22.12, the latest stable build from a project that develops a Debian and Kali Linux-based distribution with GNOME as the default desktop. This is a "new generation" of the old Knoppix-based Gnoppix that was discontinued in 2006. The new Gnoppix also ships with some penetration-testing and reverse-engineering tools. "Today I am happy to announce the Gnoppix 22.12 release. The update includes bug fixes, security updates, Linux kernel 6.x, GNOME 43.2, lots of performance improvements and lots of new security tools. Development Release: Gnoppix Linux 2.12 Beta |

The Gnoppix project has released an Ubuntu-based live CD with a preview release of Gnome 2.12: "The Gnoppix project proudly presents the first beta release of version 2.12 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD. This version comes with Gnome 2.12, updates and lot of improvements. Gnoppix 2.12 beta1 is available in four languages: German, English, French and Hindi." Distribution Release: Gnoppix Linux 1.0 |

The developers of the Ubuntu-based Gnoppix project have released the first stable version of their live CD: "The Gnoppix project presents version 1.0 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD. Gnoppix 1.0 can be downloaded for the Intel i386 platform here. PowerPC and AMD64 platforms will be ready soon. Gnoppix 1.0 comes with GNOME 2.10." Overclockix
Overclockix started as a KNOPPIX-based live CD featuring a host of tools for network security, low-level hardware tweaking, burn-in applications, and distributed computing clients. It went dormant in 2005, but was revived again in 2011 as a Debian-based live CD "aimed at overclockers for stress testing, distributed computing and as a general Linux toolkit."
