A new version of Slo-Tech Linux was announced earlier this week. Despite the small version increment, this Morphix-based desktop distribution from Slovenia has undergone many changes since version 2.0. Besides the usual bug fixes, several packages have been upgraded, including KDE, OpenOffice.org, Scribus and the NVIDIA driver. Interestingly, the ISO image includes several open source applications for Windows, such as OpenOffice.org, Firefox and Thunderbird, all localised into Slovenian. See the release announcement (in Slovenian) for further details and download locations. Get it from here: stl-20040831.iso (673MB).

A new version of Slo-Tech Linux, an easy-to-use Slovenian live CD based on Morphix, has been released. Version 2.1 comes in two variants - with either kernel 2.4 or 2.6. It also includes KDE 3.3.0, Firefox 0.10.1, Evolution 2.0.2, Gaim 1.0.2, Xchat 2.4.0, and other popular applications. Due to bandwidth limitations, the two ISO images are only provided as BitTorrent seeds; get them from here: stl21-20041027-1.iso.torrent (kernel 2.4, 549MB) or stl21-20041027-2.iso.torrent (kernel 2.6, 555MB). See the complete release announcement (in Slovenian) and a screenshot of the distribution's desktop.
