SolydXK
SolydX and SolydK are Debian-based distributions with the Xfce and KDE desktops respectively. SolydXK aims to be simple to use, providing an environment that is both stable and secure. SolydXK is an open-source alternative for small businesses, non-profit organisations and home users. The project started as an unofficial variant of Linux Mint's "Debian" edition with KDE as the default desktop, but it was later given its own identity as SolydK. SolydX was added after Linux Mint dropped its Debian-based flavour that used the Xfce desktop. The project also has a rolling release branch, called Enthusiast's Editions, which used Debian Testing as a base.

Hakin9 Live: "Version 2.0.1 has been created from scratch, based on Aurox Live 9.3. This way we could clean some artifacts from early, experimental stage of Hakin9 Live. We have also fixed some problems with booting h9l on some hardware. If you had problems with booting Hakin9 Live 1.5.0 on your machie, try this new version... This version has most of tools that were in previous version, and some more." New window manager xfce4 was included, which is much more nice in the developers' opinion. Download: hakin9live-2.0.1.iso (610MB).

Distribution Release: Hakin9 Live 2.3.D |
 |
A new version of the Hakin9 Live CD is now available for download. Changes since the last release: "New kernel (2.4.26 + squashfs + cryptoloop + orinoco), better WiFi support, more applications. We've also managed to fix problems with booting Hakin9 Live on certain hardware platforms. If you happened to have problems with booting Hakin9 Live 2.0.1 on your machine, try the new version. We've used a new window manager: XFce 4. It definitely looks nicer and we've managed to hold on to low memory usage. Most of the tools are still available, some were added. If you'd like to see some new tools on Hakin9 Live, email us." The release announcement and a list of download mirrors can be found on the distribution's home page. Get it from here: hakin9live_2.3.D.iso (542MB). Hakin9 Live is bootable Linux live CD, based on Aurox Linux, containing tools for practising security techniques described in the Hakin9 magazine.
