OSNews has reviewed Cobind Desktop, a new Fedora-based desktop-oriented Linux distribution: "I have rarely seen a distribution that has excited me so much for its subsequent releases, and I've rarely seen a release so focused on true default useability for the desktop. In time, we'll want to see advanced video applications, a flawlessly integrated Samba interface, and perhaps some new tools like a mature Yummy to help administer the local system. For now, I will not be able to commit to Cobind full time. But I can promise you that I am more excited about Cobind than any other distribution out there. Although in its infancy, I believe Cobind Desktop has potential to take the Linux desktop world by storm." The full story with screenshots.

Cobind Desktop: Review and Interview |
 |
Flexbeta.net has published a brief review of Cobind Desktop, accompanied by an interview with David Watson, Co-Founder and President of Cobind Desktop: "As far as office applications, Cobind features AbiWord 2.0.1, Dia 0.91, GnuCash 1.8.4 and Gnumeric 1.2.1. Though it's not OpenOffice.org Writer, AbiWord contains many features which are included in Writer, such as compatibility with MS Word, WordPerfect documents and even OpenOffice.org Writer format. However, OpenOffice.org is easily installed by typing 'yum install openoffice.org' at the terminal and yum will install and resolve all dependencies automatically."
