DistroWatch.com: Storm Linux

Storm Linux

Last Update: Tuesday 2 June 2009 04:24 GMT

Called Storm Linux, the distribution is aimed at server and desktop markets. The company is actively looking for testers, investors, and strategic alliances. For system administrators, a key feature is the Storm Administration System. Written in an easy-to-use programming language, the Storm Administration System helps to run networks both remotely and on-site. The Storm Administration System also quickly creates graphical and text interfaces to make other programs easier to use.Storm Linux builds on Debian GNU/Linux... Stormix Technologies was founded in February 1999 in Vancouver, Canada to provide the tools that Linux needs to compete against Windows NT. The project closed in April 2001 after failing to attract additional capital.

Table Notes and Explanations
  • Select view: Major packages only (52) All tracked packages (206)
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the 'libgnome' and 'nautilus' packages. As per the Apache project's recommendations, apache 1.3.x is referred to as "apache", while apache 2.x is referred to as "httpd".
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.
