DistroWatch.com: FaunOS

FaunOS

Last Update: Thursday 17 July 2014 04:51 GMT

FaunOS is a portable, fully integrated Linux operating system with over 600 pre-installed packages. Based on Arch Linux, it is specifically designed to run from a portable USB memory device (such as a USB Flash drive). It can also be configured to boot from other media, such as DVD, and even the internal hard drive. FaunOS is a live desktop system designed to run without setup on most modern x86-based systems.

Table Notes and Explanations
  • Select view: Major packages only (52) All tracked packages (219)
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "kdelibs" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.
