DistroWatch.com: Everest Linux

Everest Linux

Last Update: Tuesday 2 June 2009 04:24 GMT

Everest Linux is a Chinese distribution developed by Red Flag Linux and managed as a community project (in a fashion similar to Red Hat's Fedora or Novell's openSUSE). Its main features are user-friendly desktop, excellent hardware detection, full support for simplified Chinese, and a 6-month release cycle.

Table Notes and Explanations
  • Select view: Major packages only (52) All tracked packages (206)
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the 'libgnome' and 'nautilus' packages. As per the Apache project's recommendations, apache 1.3.x is referred to as "apache", while apache 2.x is referred to as "httpd".
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.
