Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view:
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "kdelibs" and "plasma-desktop" packages and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

Readers should note this not a standard Linux. It is a real-time Linux created for one task, audiophile quality music server which it does extremely well.

Yes. the other two reviews are correct. I have been downloading now for the better part of two days now. There is still supposed to be 28 hours remaining. Decided this is not on, its supposed to be open source, it should be available, and this is not availability.

Like the previous reviewer, I shall let it continue - doubtless with several restarts as it has already cut off once, and then see what we do.

It should not feature on Distrowatch. Having a free download link which does not work marks it as a scam.

The other worrying thing about the site is the usb board, which costs several hundred euros and is supposed to be of superlative low noise quality. Well, think about it. You take usb out, which is data, and you pipe it into an outboard DAC. Or mostly nowadays any audiophile would actually take it out over optical, which is also data, and pipe it into your outboard DAC.

So how is the several hundred spent on this low noise usb card going to make the slightest difference to the quality of the bits that come over the link?

It has all the marks of being a scam, and one suspects the technical expertise of the people who put the distro together. It would probably be a lot safer to get the real time Arch kernel and load the music packages on it oneself.

As mentioned by others, without paying you will be downloading at 3-4kb/sec. it will take you 4-5 days. In the end, you will get an iso with a mismatching md5 (happened in my case).

I agree that this NOT AN OPEN-SOURCE. The guy is just making money by uploading an arch with a real time kernel (you can get this yourself). He says he needs to offset the hosting payment, but that's a total BS, as he could just torrent the iso.

I ask people who downloaded and made it work to torrent the iso, so everyone can download it. I would do that once I have a working copy.
