| Package searches |
Search the DistroWatch database for distributions using a particular package. If you are looking for a distribution with the latest kernel, select "linux" from the drop-down box below and type the version number into the text box next to it. Please note that GNOME is listed as "libgnome", KDE as "kdebase" and Apache 2.0.x as "httpd". As for versioning, try to be as close to official version numbers as possible: as an example, for libgnome you should type 2.8.0 (not 2.8) and for kdebase 3.3.0 (not 3.3). | Search by Distribution Criteria (Simple Search Form) |
This section allows you to search for a particular distribution based on certain criteria. Just select the criteria from the drop-down and check boxes below and hit the refresh button to get a list of known distributions that match your choice.
The following distributions match your criteria:
1. Alinex Alinex, developed by the Universidade de Évora, is a Ubuntu-based Portuguese Linux distribution designed for the students of the university. It includes an easy installation program, complete localisation into Portuguese, and all the necessary software the university students might need to develop new applications.
2. Linux Caixa Mágica Caixa Mágica is a Portuguese Linux distribution based on Mandriva Linux.
3. PAIPIX PAIPIX is a compilation of free software, based on Debian Live, that is meant to be used in any environment, but with special vocation for educational use in the information and instrumentation technologies. It is developed by the College of Sciences at the University of Lisbon.
4. Protech Protech is a specialist, Ubuntu-based live and installation CD designed primarily for security technicians and programmers, but it can also be used as a day-to-day Linux operating system. Among its most interesting features are the inclusion of a great variety o security tools and a well-designed, light-weight Fluxbox desktop.
5. Super OS Super OS (formerly: Super Ubuntu) is a modified version of Ubuntu with the goal of making it more usable while trying to remain compatible with Ubuntu. Features compared to Ubuntu include better multimedia support, improved Internet experience (aMSN, Opera, Flash, Moonlight and Google Gears), App Runner, and other software, such as Java, Ubuntu Tweak, live USB creator and KDE/Qt libraries.
6. Xange Xange (formerly Vixta) is an easy-to-use, Fedora-based desktop Linux distribution featuring the KDE desktop.

The advanced search form allows you to fine tune your search criteria by including multiple items in your search. Once completed, it will also allow you to display the result either as a list of all matching distributions with their descriptions, or in a sorted tabular format.
