| Package searches |
Search the DistroWatch database for distributions using a particular package. If you are looking for a distribution with the latest kernel, select "linux" from the drop-down box below and type the version number into the text box next to it. Please note that GNOME is listed as "libgnome", KDE as "kdebase" and Apache 2.0.x as "httpd". As for versioning, try to be as close to official version numbers as possible: as an example, for libgnome you should type 2.8.0 (not 2.8) and for kdebase 3.3.0 (not 3.3). Have fun and let us know how we can improve the search engine!

6. GoblinX GoblinX is a bootable live CD distribution based on Slackware Linux. Since version 3.0 GoblinX comes in several editions: g:Standard with the KDE desktop, g:Noblin with the GNOME desktop, g:Mini with the Xfce window manager and g:Micro with the Fluxbox window manager.
7. GoboLinux GoboLinux is a Linux distribution that breaks away from the historical UNIX directory hierarchy. Basically, this means that there are no directories such as /usr and /etc. The main idea of the alternative hierarchy is to store all files belonging to an application in its own separate subtree; therefore we have directories such as /Programs/GCC/2.95.3/lib. To allow the system to find these files, they are logically grouped in directories such as /System/Links/Executables, which, you guessed it, contains symbolic links to all executable files inside the Programs hierarchy. To maintain backwards compatibility with traditional Unix/Linux apps, there are symbolic links that mimic the Unix tree, such as "/usr/bin -> /System/Links/Executables", and "/sbin -> /System/Links/Executables" (this example shows that arbitrary differentiations between files of the same category were also removed).
8. Litrix Linux Litrix is a desktop Linux distribution and live DVD based on Gentoo Linux.
9. Poseidon Linux Poseidon Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution designed for academic and scientific use. Although based on Ubuntu, it enhances its parent by adding a large number of applications for GIS/maps, numerical modelling, 2D/3D/4D visualisation, statistics, tools for creating simple and complex graphics, programming languages and more. The usual software for daily use, such as office suite, Internet browser, instant messaging and chat clients are also included.
10. pQui Linux pQui Linux is a Brazilian desktop-oriented distribution based on Slackware Linux.
11. Resulinux Resulinux is a Brazilian desktop distribution and live CD based on Debian GNU/Linux. Among its unique characteristics are TexasFlood boot system, which dramatically shortens the operating system's boot time, and a software update utility called LiveUpdate.
12. Satux Satux is a Brazilian desktop Linux distribution and live DVD based on Debian GNU/Linux.
